2. ‘Communication’ What Actually it is ? ?
Communication is the exchange of messages between people for
the purpose of reaching common understandings , and achieving
common goals .
It is the process that links group members and enables them to
coordinate their activities.
Therefore, when managers foster effective communication, they
strengthen the connections between employees and build
cooperation.
3. Importance In Management
Communication helps the management in arriving at vital decisions.
Constant communication with personnel helps the management to remain
informed about their problems, difficulties and grievances.
Communication is quite essential for coordination, which is the essence of
effective management.
It brings about mutual understanding between the personnel at all levels
and fosters the spirit of cooperation.
An effective system of communication can play a vital role in avoiding this
illusion.
4. Leadership is a key process in any organization.
Coming to business enterprises, people working there need leaders
who could be instrumental in guiding the efforts of groups of workers
to achieve the goals of both individuals and the organization .
Leadership is a process of influence on a group.
Leadership is the ability of a manager to induce subordinates to work
with confidence and zeal.
5. Leadership style refers to the behavior pattern adopted by a leader to influence
the behavior of his subordinates for attaining the organizational goals.
As different leadership styles have their own merits and demerits, it is difficult to
prefer one leadership style over another .
There are different types of leadership styles which the managers usually follows:
These are:
1. Autocratic or Task Management Leadership
2. Participative or Democratic Leadership
3. Laissez-faire or Free-rein Leadership
4. Paternalistic Leadership
6. There’s no mystery here. Regardless of whether you’re talking about business, politics, sports or
the military, the best leaders are first-rate communicators.
Their values are clear and solid, and what they say promotes those values. Their teams admire
them and follow their lead.
You must realize and accept that clear communication is always a two-way process.
It’s not enough to speak clearly; you have to make sure you’re being heard and understood. To
facilitate this, use the following two-way communication primer:
• Prepare how you’ll communicate
• Deliver the message
• Receive the message
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the communication afterwards
• Take corrective action as necessary
7. Hitler’s Communication Skills
In order to sway the German masses to follow him, Hitler had to be a
master communicator.
He also knew what the people wanted to hear and he exploited that.
He was ruthless with words and would exert so much emotion in his
speeches that people thought he would back up anything he said.
He would actually practice his speeches and knew what hand gestures
went where for emphasis.
He would sometimes start real quiet and then elevate his voice with a
loud noise of rage and hatred.
His speeches included propaganda and backed up his opinions with,
what would seem like concrete facts.
8. ‘Quotes’ he quotes..
"Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal
struggle do not deserve to live.“
“The [Nazi party] should not become a constable of public opinion, but must dominate it. It must
not become a servant of the masses, but their master!“
"A single blow must destroy the enemy... without regard of losses... a gigantic all-destroying
blow.“
"How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.“
"The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.“
"Who says I am not under the special protection of God?"
