2. Facebook Business Manager
The Business Manager: allows agencies and
advertisers to centrally manage different permission
levels for team members working on ad accounts or
Pages.
3. Create a Business Manager if:
● Your business has a marketing team.
● You have more than 1 person working on your business marketing or more than 1 person managing your current
Facebook or Instagram business presence.
● You manage assets.
● You manage multiple Facebook or Instagram assets such as Facebook Pages, ad accounts, or apps.
● You use a vendor.
● You work with vendors to help create, run, or manage your Pages or ads, but want your business to maintain
ownership of all Pages, ad accounts and assets.
● You need control over access and permissions.
● You want to maintain complete jurisdiction over your assets without attributing ownership to individuals who
assist your business operations.
● You want your business to grow.
● You want the ability to request access to other pages, ad accounts and apps, or share your pages, ads accounts
and apps with other agencies.
4. Setting Up Business Manager
● Business Manager is an umbrella tool that sits
above Facebook's self-service tools such as Ads
Manager, Reporting and Pages.
● It's designed to reflect an organizational hierarchy.
At the top, Business admins have full access and
may create necessary permissions for anyone
who works on specific Pages or ad accounts.
5. Setting Up Business Manager cont.
1. Go to Facebook Business.facebook.com.
1. Click Create Account.
1. Enter your business name and click
Continue.
1. Enter the your name and email (or those
of the primary Business Manager admin).
1. Click Finish.
11. Adding People
● Enter the email address for each
person you want to add.
● In most cases, add people as
employees and then assign
specific accounts and tools to
them, however if you want this
person to have full access to
Business Manager select Admin
access.
● Click Next.

● Assign access to Pages, Ad
Accounts and Catalogs.
● Select the assets you want to
assign access to.
● Select the Role you want this
person to have.
● Click Invite. This person will
receive an email inviting them to
the Page, Ad Account or Catalog
that you've added them to.
13. When to Create Multiple Business Manager Accounts
● Create one Business Manager for each line of credit or currency.
● If the company operates in a way that's siloed, with limited transparency
across lines of businesses (brands, divisions, regions), create one Business
Manager for each line of business.
● If the company has open transparency across lines of businesses, create
one Business Manager and use projects to organize business assets for
teams within a single business.
● Business assets include Pages, ad accounts, apps, product catalogs,
Instagram accounts, etc.
14. Business Manager Roles
● Different Roles For Different Functions
● Hierarchical in nature
○ 3 roles ad accounts managers
○ 5 permissions levels for people who need access to Pages,
○ 2 Business Manager roles.
15. Ad account roles
1. Admin
○ Can manage all aspects of campaigns including creating reports, viewing
and editing billing details and assigning account roles
2. Advertiser
○ Can see and edit ads and set up ads using the payment method
associated with the ad account, but can't set account roles
3. Analyst
○ Can view ad performance
16. Page roles
1. Admin
○ Can manage all aspects of the page including sending messages and publishing as the page,
creating ads, viewing insights and assigning Page Roles
2. Editor
○ Can edit the Page, send messages and publish as the Page, create ads and view insights
3. Moderator
○ Can respond to and delete comments on the Page, send messages as the Page, create ads
and view insights
4. Advertiser
○ Can create ads for the Page and view insights
5. Analyst
○ Can view insights
