Career History
RAF WADDINGTON
ASMT aircraft refueller - 2014 - Present
Having been an aircraft refueller previously at RAF Leuchars i was keen to take this role on at a
different RAF station with larger and a more varied number of aircraft operating from the unit. Since
taking on this role i have proved that i am a quick learner with operating on different aircraft types and
on a different airfield. This became more valuable when the 2014 RAF Waddington airshow came
with a large number of different nations and varied aircraft types attending further proving my ability
to work under pressure with different nations making the airshow a success. Whilst being employed
as an aircraft refueller at RAF Waddington as well as being trained on Avtur (F-34) refuller vehicles i
have also been trained on;
• Domestic water vehicle.
• Aircraft sewage vehicle.
• Avgas (F-18) bowser.
• Diesel bowser.
• Airfield sweeper.
2. RAF WADDINGTON
Control Co-ordinator Bahrain - 2013 - 2014
Whilst deployed in Bahrain I was the only person of my trade supporting operations from the logistical
side of the RAF overseeing all logistical tasks. With being the only person of my trade I had numerous
tasks I had to complete daily these included;
2
• Being the focal point for any logistical advise for all personnel.
• Making sure all accident/incident paperwork was correctly completed, filed and seen by the
relevant authorities.
• Liaising with local businesses regarding maintenance, servicing and accident repair damage.
• Ensuring all personnel were aware of the rules and regulations regarding driving in Bahrain.
• Ensuring personnel were in possession of correct documentation whilst driving in Bahrain.
• Overseeing all logistical movements, by planning routes for personnel and liaising with local
authorities.
• Making sure personnel were competent and confident with driving in Bahrain and aware of
the risks and dangers.
• Driving numerous VIP's and VVIP's when visits occurred.
• The result of all these efforts meant reduced accidents/incidents in Bahrain in my time there
and a smooth operation whilst overseas.
Trade training co-ordinator - 2012 - 2013
As Trade Training Coordinator I was responsible for supporting 3000+ personnel with training
packages for deployments around the globe and licencing support.
In a high pressure and fast paced environment I had to ensure personnel were correctly trained on
different types of vehicles before they were due to deploy. This meant being extremely organised and
efficient with booking and ensuring students were suitably prepared for there courses, liaising with
outside agencies regarding course bookings, licencing, availability, authority for the
student to complete course, and payment. The result of this was that all personnel deploying around
the world were sufficiently trained before there deployments.
RAF LEUCHARS
Driver - 2008 - 2011
After gaining all my driving licences and my ADR licence i had the chance to put all the skills i had
learnt to practice driving numerous, varied and challenging loads to different locations all over the UK.
When i was transporting kit for the RAF Typhoon display team round the UK one of there jets became
unserviceable. I had to collect an extra bit of equipment from a different air force base to assist the
technicians with there problem. With a limited timescale to do so as they had to move on to other air
shows, as a result of this i effectively managed to keep the plans that were already in place for the air
shows the team had in place also successfully being able to re-arrange the load i already had in a
safe way to accommodate the extra equipment all being done under a time pressure environment.
