Project Experience;
HPX3 HAYPOINT COAL TERMINAL EXPANSION PROJECT - McCONNELL DOWELL
Role; Mechanical/Piping Supervisor.
Project Description:
Connect and align conveyors and chutes, Install SS Fire process piping systems offshore, install booster pumps,
hydrants and ancillary equipment. HDPE piping for potable water systems and sewage systems.
Tasks on the Project:
• Set up offshore storage containers for tooling and consumables
• Supervise a Group of tradesman in caring out tasks to meet programme requirements.
• Regular interface meetings on performance and schedule targets.
• Ensuring all relevant permits, SWMS are up to date and relevant to tasks.
• Constant Safety reviews of all works and associated KPI’s are met.
• Set up Sub Contractors for fabrication of SS pipework and carried out QC during fabrication.
• Carry out performance reviews on Craft under my control.

Tasks on the Project:

Project Description:
Construction of a 108EP – 160EP Waste Water Treatment Plant Installation of all Mechanical equipment, dosing
systems, Metal works, and provide assistance for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning.
Implementation and delivery of best practice asset management systems and processes
Tasks on the Project:
• Rhod was directing and coordinating the activities involved at the current Wastewater Upgrade Project
in Townsville. Using his vast previous experience he effectively directs the various onsite trade groups
to ensure they collaboratively work towards the common goal of completion. Rhod provides highly
proficient leadership skills and working knowledge of his craft in all aspects of his role.
• Monitor the work sequences of sub-contractors to ensure compliance with safety requirements,
specifications, and schedules.
• Perform inspections during construction activities as well as provide technical assistance for
monitoring process conditions and identifying process improvement opportunities.
• Nurture a culture of OHSE participation and lead by example in demonstrating OHSE behaviours that
reflect the Project expectations
• Liaise and assist in providing key information for the purpose reporting on progress, schedule and
conformance and OHSE.

Project Description:
Installation of two Dry Ash Conveyor and Silo Systems
Managing trades and planning of all mechanical installation
Interfacing with operations on key issues during shut downs.
Commissioning of new system and tie in to existing plant
Tasks on the Project:
Rhod had the primary responsibility to liaise with the project clients on constructability issues and its units. His
personal planning of the schedule works in conjunction with client delivery schemes and shutdown dates put the
project in position to finish on time and to budget. Rhod also set the milestones throughout the project to ensure
completion while maintaining all aspects of safety required during construction.
COMBINED CYCLE GAS TURBINE (NSW) - TENIX
Role: Mechanical Superintendent
Project Description:
Installation of all Mechanical Equipment and Pipe, Turbines, Generators Installation of Cooling Water systems,
Screens and Penstocks. Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of new GT26 435MW Dual Cycle Power station
• Managing trades and planning of all mechanical installations
• Interfacing with Client on key issues during construction.
• Interface with Client on Scheduling/Planning issues
• Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of new systems.
Tasks on the Project:
The correlation of all task involved with mechanical installation of plant and equipment was allocated to Rhod.
Rhod once again set specific milestones to ensure completion of the project on time. He was required to
consistently liaise with planners, clients and supervisors to confirm target achievements and progress
requirements.

• Generate SWMS with work team
• Liaise with planners /schedulers to ensure delivery of field works will be carried out in a timely and
cost effective manner
• Set up and plan activities for remote site upgrades with back to back colleagues and Schedulers

Project Description:
Construction of Waste Water Treatment Plant Wollongong NSW.

• Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of new systems.
Tasks on the Project:
Rhod’s position included management of project operations to ensure performance in accordance with the project
management team. This involved consistent communication with senior management, clients and leading
supervisors. Rhod also coordinated all hydrostatic testing of equipment and plant. The installation process involved
pumps, diffusers, valves, conveyors, submersible pumps and micro-filtration.
