SPYING AND RESEARCH
# 1
Get a list of business you want to work with, in a particular location or
country, check them out on their websites.
Don't call or email the contacts displayed on the websites. Most times, they
receptionist or costumer care takes the emails and calls and often your
message will not get to the Owner of the business or decision makers.
Rather, fill out the enquiry forms on such websites, there are higher
chances that the owner or decision maker will get the message, and by so
doing, reply you, which begins communication.
All you need to do is save the emails used in replying you for re-marketing
and re-targeting purposes and to keep in touch.
# 2
Learn new trending and developing technology in an area of business.
Contact existing businesses in such area that have not started using such
new technology and pitch them to offer such services.
Eg. Setting up artificial intelligence that responds to enquiries when working
hours is over. Such includes Chabot for both social media and websites.

# 3
Do a research on google AdWord, find businesses that are using AdWord
to advertise, note them down and spy if they are using Facebook ads too.
Those not using Facebook, target them for Facebook ads services.
# 4
Check out new business on listing and directory websites. Businesses who
may not have huge cash to pay top brands, but will definitely agree to work
with small team/ contractors. Check up the check up on social media, try to
contact the owners or decision makers and pitch them.
You can check out the directories of countries like, U.S.A, U.K, Canada,
New Zealand, Australia and first world countries.
Third and Second world countries are also good.
# 5
Checkup apps in play and apple store, find new software development
companies, research on their competitors and pitch them to help them
market their softwares and apps.
# 6
Search out companies into new technologies and business trends that are
not too known, pitch them for your marketing services. The same applies to
coaches who are not really having huge sales on their courses and events.
Also check out event websites, find companies and individual holding

events and Pitch them to help to promote their courses and events online
and via social media.
# 7
So many businesses have bad online presence, profile, reputation and
reviews. Research on such business and offer them online reputation
Management services.
# 8
Most businesses are still using traditional advert methods (Newspapers,
bill boards etc.), get in touch with them, and make them understand how
digital marketing can help their business grow. And offer your services.
Mind you I am not saying that traditional adverts are bad.
NETWORKING AND PARTNERSHIP
# 9
Join Co-working groups and sites. By joining co-working sites and groups
and forums, you can network and connect with CEOs, founders and
investors.
Such co-working places include: Facebook groups (for business owners,
entrepreneurs and startups), Linkedin groups and network, Business
forums, Myspace, CofoundersLab… etc.. You can search more out.

Establish good relationship with the admins of such groups and individuals
there. Be active in the group. It will open doors for you to have marketing
talks, speaking opportunities and handling projects for people too.
# 10
You can partner with someone with big portfolio so you can use their
portfolio to market yourself or services.
I have done it several times, and i give out my portfolio too to beginners
who want it and actually know their onions.
Some clients may never give you a job or project if they have not seen
what you have done before.
In order to get such clients, partner with professionals that have built their
portfolio over years. There are high chances of getting the job or projects
using their portfolio and by so doing, you build yours too.
Mind you, make sure you have they consent of the professional you are
using their portfolio, because some radical clients may want to contact, the
big "name".
# 11
Partner with other business coaches, professionals like Legal Advisers and
Chartered Accountant offer them referral commissions from clients that
come through them.

You can meet them by attending business and economic events and
summits. Mind you, establish a relationship first before talking about
business and referrals.
EVENTS
# 12
Organize Webinars, events where you will speak alongside with other
speakers (influencers), the event might be free or a very small fee. I do free
events a lot. You can host online interviews and talk shows with top
coaches and "names" in your niche too.
# 13
I do this a lot as well. Anytime I travel, I talk to those around me about my
business and I discuss other issues like politics, the economy etc... And try
to establish a relationship, I have got projects through that means and most
time referrals from them.
Travelling on first Class is a great idea, because you will be opportune to
meet with some big names and guys which can end up with a big project.

BRANDING
# 14
Post (educative and helpful posts) regularly about what you have learnt or
experienced in your niche (field, specialization or expertise), such helps
you build authority and brand yourself. It will attract comments which will
lead people to interact with you as a consultant, and give you projects to
handle.
# 15
Find business competitor's and educate them on what their competitors are
doing that they are not doing and should do, and offer your services around
it.
# 16
Brand yourself as an authority in a particular niche by setting up websites,
social media pages (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram,
Pinterest), also create group where you educate people around your niche
and drive traffic to them.
# 17
Books brand you and make you an authority, whether soft copy (eBooks) or
hard copy, write books (both free and paid) on your niche.
Upload them on eBook stores like amazon, app stores, on your site, social
media for people to buy, download free and share.

REFERRALS AND OFFERS
# 18
Don’t and never be shy or afraid to ask your existing clients for referrals.
Well they say "Good jobs and services sell themselves". Meaning when
you do a job excellently, others will ask for who did that job for the person
to do theirs.
So while you ask for referrals, make sure you give your clients the best of
your services.
# 19
Join freelancing websites, find and start a project with the clients. Ask for
the referrals & more tasks from them. Maintain relation with clients you are
comfortable with outside the platform. It gives room to many opportunities
and saves you some fees.
Some freelancing site includes: Upwork, Freelancer, Guru, Fiverr etc. You
can search out more.
# 20
Offer free trial services to stiff necked CEOs and Owners. There are CEOs
that would want to prove you first, you can offer free trials to them or ask
them to pay a little percentage of the actual pay, after a period of time
(usually short time), and a full contractual agreement should be made.
Any CEO that will not consent to this offer, let him go.
