changes:

Rules:
Verbs ending ch/sh/s/ss/x/o = add “es” at the
end.
Watch: watches Miss: misses Go: goes
Fix: fixes Brush: brushes Do: does
He watches TV every night.
4. Present Simple
Verbs ending consonant + Y = change Y to “ies”
Try: tries Study: studies cry: cries
the baby cries aloud when he is hungry.
Verbs ending vowel + Y = add “s” at the end.
Buy: buys Play: plays Say: says
She plays videogames at nights.
5. Present Simple
Verbs ending “E” = add “s” at the end.
Come: comes Write: writes Smile: smiles
She smiles when she is happy.

Rules:
General rule= add “ing” at the end.

and add “ing” at the end.

Verbs ending “W, X or Y”= add “ing” at the end.

Verbs ending in stressed vowel = double last
consonant and add “ing” at the end.

She is getting her homework done.

Verbs ending in NOT stressed vowel = only add
“ing” at the end.
happen: happening visit: visiting Open: opening.
My grandparents are visiting us tis weekend.

the past participle form of the main verbs. Remember, only
regular verbs follow this rules.
Present Perfect
Rules:
General rule= add “ed” at the end.
Visit: visited Finish: Finished Want: wanted
I have watched this movie several times. I love it!!
13. Verbs ending consonant + E = add “d” at the
end.
Dance: danced love: loved like: liked
She has moved several times this year.
Verbs ending in stressed vowel or one syllable
verb= double last consonant and add “ed”.
prefer: preferred Stop: stopped travel: travelled.
I have travelled to Paris twice.
Present Perfect
14. Verbs ending consonant + Y = add “ied” at the
end.
Study: studied try: tried cry: cried
We have studied the same lesson and we still can’t understand it.
Verbs ending vowel + Y = add “ed” at the end.
