Aerospace to change the future of
Private Aviation.
A major change is about to hit the private jet industry – a change that will soon make travelling to airports a thing of
the past. The private charter jet company Supreme Jets has signed an agreement with SAMAD Aerospace to create
a service that will, within 5 years, enable private jet customers to avail themselves of a door-to-door global air travel
service in hybrid-electric jets.
‘Our revolutionary new jets says Samad, ‘will redefine the air travelling experience. Imagine a transportation system
which is safer than a car, completely flexible, as eco- friendly as an electric vehicle, less time-consuming than any plane
or train and as luxurious as a private jet…Our products will give back our users their most valuable asset – their time.’
Samad Aerospace, a UK based company has a dream to revolutionise the way people and cargo are flown around the
globe, using vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technology. The company, based at Cranfield Technology Park, is
developing a new, 5-seater medium range passenger aircraft called the e-Starling. Full VTOL capability will allow the
e-Starling to operate from helipads and other locations, offering ‘point to point’ travel.
The Samad Aerospace range will include three aircraft types: the ‘Starling UAV’, the ‘e-Starling’ and the ‘Starling Jet’.
Vertical mobility has the potential to become a global market worth £58 billion by 2035.
Supreme Jets has agreed to operate a fleet of aircraft on behalf of SAMAD Aerospace, when they launch in 2023. This
puts Supreme Jets alongside Samad, at the forefront of the technological advancement in private aviation, that will
revolutionise the industry and change how we travel.

substantial press, industry and market interests.

EIS E XPL AINED

The company is raising finance for the development of Supreme Jets with the opportunity for investors to take
advantage of the tax benefits offered by the Enterprise Investment Scheme (‘EIS’). The EIS is a UK Government
Tax Scheme which is designed to encourage investment in certain types of projects by offering generous tax
incentives and reliefs. Provisional approval that the company’s shares will qualify under EIS is being sought from
HM Revenue & Customs.
Enterprise Investment Scheme (‘EIS’) tax benefits for individuals.
It is anticipated that UK tax paying investors will be eligible for Enterprise Investment Scheme tax benefits based
on their investment in the Company.
EIS Investments offer the following potential benefits to investors:
lncome Tax Relief
Income Tax relief at 30% (or in the prior tax year), on the amount invested in shares against income of up
to £1,000,000;
Capital Gains Tax Exemption
Capital Gains Tax exemption on disposal of shares if held for at least three years;
Capital Gains Tax Deferral Relief
Individuals can defer CGT chargeable gains by subscribing for eligible shares in an EIS Qualifying Company
of an amount equivalent to the chargeable gain. The investment must be made in the period beginning
twelve months before and ending three years after the date of the disposal giving rise to the capital gains
to be deferred. Deferral of a capital gain is only a deferral of the original liability to CGT. The capital gain
is deferred until there is a chargeable event, such as a disposal of the shares in the EIS Qualifying Company.
The value of deferral depends on the tax rate applying to the gains in question.
Inheritance Tax
Inheritance Tax free if the shares have been held at least 2 years in most cases;
Loss Relief
Loss Relief; should the investment fail to recover the amount invested or where an investor sells their shares at
a loss, the loss, after deducting EIS Income Tax relief (see above), may be set against an investor’s chargeable
gains or taxable income in that year or the previous year.
It is intended that the Company will be maintained to ensure its EIS eligibility for its investors. Provisional approval
from HM Revenue & Customs has been applied for with regard to the company’s qualification under the Enterprise
Investment Scheme.

The amount of deferral relief is assuming that the chargeable gain being reduced is on a gain on a residential
property and therefore the tax saving will be at a tax rate of 28%. If the chargeable gain related to any other
gain e.g an antique - the tax saving would be based on 20%. Furthermore, this assumes that the tax payer
investing has a chargeable gain to relieve.
The capital gain that is deferred crystallises on any of the following three chargeable events:
Disposal of the EIS shares (unless this is to your spouse or civil partner whilst residing together
You cease to be UK resident, if this happens within 3 years from the time the shares were issued
Shares cease to be qualifying EIS shares
The loss relief is assuming that an election is made to set the capital loss against income. The default position
would be to recognise a capital loss against any capital gains.
If the EIS shares are sold within 3 years of purchase, there are different connotations, mainly that income tax
relief may wholly or partly be withdrawn and capital gains tax may be payable

WELLNESS ON THE COAST

GOLF ON THE COSTA DEL SOL
San Roque Golf Club is an exclusive country club with a distinctly refined feel that is built around a beautifully
undulating golf course, combining old and new courses.
This course, designed by Perry Dye with the collaboration of Severiano Ballesteros, has all the conditions to
be part of the elite of European golf for its high technical quality, its beautiful layout and impeccable finish. It
was the scene of the 2006 Spanish Open, won by Niclas Fasth, and also hosted the final of the European tour’s
classification school. Without a doubt, it is a field that is far above what we usually find in Spain and Europe,
without any construction around it and, in short, a challenge and an exceptional golf course.
Many players who have since become household names received their tour card at San Roque such as Padraig
Harrington, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose to name a few. “See you in November in San Roque”
became a catch phrase for those in the business as the Q School finals were held for a further 13 years at the club
with the exception of 3 years in between where the finals were held in Catalunya. In 2003, San Roque opened
a further 18 holes and so the New Course was born. The course designed by Perry Dye and Seve Ballesteros
is a perfect contrast to the Old as it is extremely different in design, yet presents the same challenges as it´s
older sister.
