Peer Observation
Instructions – Give this sheet to another member of your group. Ask them to fill in the
first two sections. You must then fill in your response in the third section.
Name of observer: Ramy Ben Fredj
Name of performer being observed: Rebecca Sellors
Workshop/Rehearsal: Blocking with the director
The OBSERVER must make comments on each of the following -
1: Professional Attitude
Comments
Punctuality and attendance Rebecca turned up on time to the rehearsal with
energy and enthusiasm ready to participate in
anything thrown her way.
Readiness to work Rebecca maintained her focus within the
rehearsal while taking a sensible direction to
achieve the tasks at hand.
Communication with other
company members during the
rehearsal
Rebecca was vocal with her ideas giving them to
her peers and the director proving she was
considering how her character would react in
particular scenarios.
Focus and attitude during the
rehearsal
Rebecca remained focused throughout the
rehearsal and always maintains a professional
attitude within all rehearsals.
Ability to take on board feedback
from other company members and
use it to improve own work
Rebecca as mentioned before takes direction
with a professional attitude instantly applying
the feedback given; she even listens to other
peer’s advice and helps others when she can see
they’re seeking out advice and direction.
2: Conduct during rehearsals - Did this person behave in a positive and
focused way during rehearsals? Assess their contribution to the success of
the rehearsal. Please be as specific as possible.
Rebecca always walks into the rehearsal space on time with an immediate
professional attitude towards work. When blocking various scenes from Grease with
our director, Rebecca always spoke when she was hesitant about something showing
she cared about how each scene was portrayed. Rebecca had to deliver particular
lines before the opening number ‘Summer Nights’, Mr Sluman our director mentioned
her accent wasn’t American like it needed to be, so Rebecca asked her peers to say
the line in an American accent. Each company member did this which Rebecca then
took on board and immediately applied the same techniques to make sure she had an
American accent when delivering her lines. This impressed me due to her
professionalism towards work as she didn’t hesitate when it came to obstacles within
her performance, she worked hard to improve her performance which she achieved by
seeking out for help straight away when reaching an obstacle. She soon overcome
these boundaries by working towards the feedback she had been given. Rebecca’s
way of dealing with obstacles which occurred during our rehearsals and her attitude

towards fixing them was commented on by the director as this not only showcasesher
professional attitude towards the industry but also the determination she had towards
conducting a realist character of Frenchy.
