Virtual Reference
Serving the Global Campus population of Central Michigan University, utilizes technology to
reach students, staff and faculty at a distance; delivers a customized and customer-focused
research experience for every user. Provides assistance to students focusing on education,
business, and health administration research; methods include phone, instant messaging,
email, a personalized web form, and asynchronous video tutorials. In addition, regularly serves
as an embedded librarian for multiple graduate-level business courses per semester.
Library Instruction
Delivers one-shot information literacy instruction to Global Campus students. Experienced in
flipping the classroom to promote information literacy through active learning, and equally
comfortable in an online or in-person teaching environment. Online classes given regularly via
software provided through the Blackboard CMS, and in-person instruction provided through
travel to remote class centers including Forts Leavenworth and Riley (KS), Wright-Patterson Air
Force Base (OH), and regional colleges in and near Toronto, Ontario.

Collection Development
Responsible for developing and maintaining a collection of electronic books to serve the Global
Campus Master of Science in Administration (MSA) program; ensures access to recent and
relevant publications for online and remote students through e-format purchasing. Subjects
include management and leadership, human resources, and strategic business planning.
Online Learning Objects
Using the Springshare LibGuides platform, creates and maintains tutorials and research guides
focused on business, public administration and military topics. In addition, designs and
implements information literacy tutorials and learning modules designed to instruct graduate
students in library services, resources and effective research methods.
Distance Library Services Conference
As part of the Executive Planning Committee and Program Advisory Board, helps to plan,
coordinate and present the biennial Distance Library Services Conference. In 2013-2014,
served as co-editor for the conference proceedings, an online publication of Central Michigan
University.
