IT is important to realize what the poem points out- it is not the huge chunks of time that causes problems, it is the regular relentless little 5 min a day that creates the problems, or finds the solutions – next questions will look at: how do we find more time with the most important folks – family.

I do NOT meant to say that you could not do so.
In an Electronic Medical Record environment, or if you calendar, accounting and labs are on computer, I have found our the hard way that this must be ‘second nature’ to the individual. First learned at start of practice, and reinforced just here in 2019.
We can teach / simplify the vveterinary things
If willing to be coached, we can teach them how to be polite.
But even the willingness to learn computer basics, is not enough when that has to be taken for granted – share story of recent – was the trainer in a bank when they introduced that 20 yr ago…. But did not know how to copy/paste. Tried to work with her, but that has to be second nature because of everything else going on in clinic.
It is only human to think “Ugh, that last employee left because of school, or husband had a transfer or …… , so I’m not going to go through that again.
IN my practice – I have a banfield, is closest, and 2 ‘parking lot shot clinics’. How we differentiate ourselves is by explaining to the client what is going on, justify why we are asking to get blood tests, diagnostics. If staff are not comfortable, or not helping the process along as employees, will they hurt the practice or help?
