4. facts
There is 7 Billion
people on the
planet, and 6.8
Billion phones,
devices and
gadgets
Water and
moisture damage
is the biggest killer
of devices after
drops and cracks
48% of the worlds
phones, tablets
and devices will
face water
damage
That means either
you, or someone
you know has had
water damage on
their device
After 48 hours of water immersion
on any device corrosion will occur.
Within 96 hours of water damage
the device will be deemed
inoperable – subject to conditions
If a water damaged device is not rescued within 48 hours, it could deem the device irreparable
In the UK alone, an estimated 38% of smart
phones / tablets / consoles and 36% of medical
devices such as hearing aids will experience a
‘dunk, dip, dive or drop’
What will you do if your device
gets wet?
6. why
Over 40% of the phones, tablets and devices in the UK are damaged
year on year through accidental spills of water. Warranties are void, and
insurance premiums escalate, though many devices may be irreparable
due to the extent of damage, a staggering 80%+ devices are only
exposed light to water damage, i.e., a spilt drink, a drop in the loo, or
from where this company started, a mobile phone dropping in the bath.
We call it the 4D’s, Dips, Dives, Dunks and Drops – and that accounts for most of the
water and moisture damage that occurs on any device.
In the past, the only slightly comparable products have used Silica Gel, what you
would find at the bottom of a shoe box. We decided to go leaps and bounds
further ahead and create something unique, a hyper-absorber.

15. the science
Absorption Sachets
•6+1 Chemical Compound based on ‘rapid absorption’
•50g sachets each in printed sachets
•Breathable one way absorption sachets, moisture-lock
•Molecules are 1.6mm – 2.5mm in thickness which expand by 35% on
absorption
•50g sachet have the ability to absorb up to 25% of their net weight i.e.,
12.5g
2 X Sachets have maximum absorption ability of 25g of water and
moisture without letting it seep back into the device
The Hyper Absorbers create a rapid environment within the vacuum of the
drypack, forcing the water to get locked into the sachets. 2 Sachets are
enough to absorb completely all the water and moisture that a standard
size DSLR camera would take if immersed in water.
Max moisture and water capacity of a smart phone is 6g – 10g
The sachets have the ability to absorb twice as much, because your device maybe a hearing aid right up to a 7”
tablet, which when completely immersed may carry up to 8g more water and moisture. Additionally many
users may leave the pack open for extended lengths of time, for which dry pack has catered for and allowed a
further 5g allowance.
16. the science, formulation, Health & Safety
We wanted to create a hyper absorber, an evaporation forcer and something that
will force molecules out of the device and prevent corrosion on the metallic
surfaces / boards and residue on screens - on any device. At the same time, we
wanted it to be safe, non toxic and non harmful. So we did.
We work with only the best manufacturers of non toxic compounds. Though our supply chain is
completely confidential we are proud to state the following;
Our production partners are Registered as a
ISO 9001 Chemical Compound Manufacturer.
Dry Pack compound is produced exclusively for Shark / Dry Pack and is classified as a category
‘Aluminosilicate compound’. In active conditions it will release heat when absorbing water or other
substances. Dry Pack compound is not toxic and does not cause fibrosis. Because of the compound
structure and packing, EU Regulations do not require safety labelling of this compound. Compound
is not know to cause harm, however if ingested then please seek medical attention. Keep out of
reach from children and pets, furthermore we have taken due diligence and precautions by printing
health and safety statements.
Dry Pack is a repair and remedy product for water damaged smart devices and not an accessory.

20. common questions
• Is it guaranteed to work?
– Well – no, there are no guarantees, how long has the device been under water? Which kind of water? Or liquid? The short answer is
however, the sooner you can get your wet device into a drypack, the better the chances of recovery. If your device has been spilled or poured
over with liquids other than water then rinse your device with pure water and then dry down thoroughly and place into the drypack
• What device is suitable?
– Any electronic device such as hearing aids to a 7” tablet, including and not limited to cameras, headphones, Bluetooth kits, navigations or
digital cameras
• What does drypack actually do?
– Drypack is a formulation in two parts, the pouch and the chemical compounds inside, both these elements act as magnets towards water and
for the minerals in the liquids which are in the environment, a vacuum is created within the pouch and that in effect creates a rush of
chemical displacement, the granular compound which is our own unique formula designed and made in the UK then attracts like a magnet
and locks it in, preventing any seepage of any kind back to the device. Your device is then wet-free, and no liquids are left, leaving behind
none or next to none corrosion or liquids left.
• I’ve dropped my phone into water, and I’ve purchased a drypack – how do I use it?
Simple.
No tools, no mess, no stress. You will have dried down your device fully by now and removed all the excess water and liquid from the
device. Tear off the top off of your drypack, you will find two 50 gram sachets of a unique compound, and NO – we do not use sub
standard Silica Gel that you find at the bottom of a shoe box, they are ineffective and absorb more air moisture than liquid moisture
which defeats the purpose.
Place your device (up to an 8” screen device, small camera, smart phone or other device) into the pouch, seal using the zip lock and
place in a warm temperature area like an airing cupboard, depending on the level of water immersion you can leave your device for up
to 72 hours.
• How does drypack stack up against liquid cleaners like Isopropyl and other drying agents?
Confidence.
There are some products available online that we have also tried and tested, and though without naming names and finger pointing, we
found that most compound based companies use Silica Gel or Clay based compounds, which not only have a short life but first start to
draw in the moisture within their ‘pouches’, what happens is that by the time it comes to actually be used on your device, they are out
of date, already 50-60% used and are not effective. Those companies offering liquid based solutions – be aware! Liquid alcohol though
an excellent form of ‘cleaner’ is not an absorber, you will still need to dry out your device and the wrong amounts of liquids used could
in effect damage rather than solve.
Our uniquely formed compound is non toxic and has the ability to like a magnet withdraw moisture and liquid faster, the 100g sachet
are big enough to absorb around 25-28 gram of moisture, that’s enough if you had a soaking drenched camera or 8” tablet! And the
best part, you will not need to dismantle your device and start spraying and cleaning, if there is a chance of recovering your device from
water and liquid damage, it is drypack
21. common questions cont’d
• I offer repair services in my outlet, this will impact my repair services and my profit margin so no thanks I won’t take it –
or should I?
• Absolutely you should! And here’s our simple justification as to why in 3 reasons.
• Firstly.
• Your walk in customers with wet devices are few, yet the number of accidents which happen in the home, office, beach –
practically anywhere are many, not many people want to leave their devices behind and as much as 80% of the water
damaged devices do not need intensive opening or dismantling of the device.
• Hence, if you were able to reach more customers who have wet devices, offering an instant ‘take-away’ DIY Service you
would in effect reach a wider audience, offer a wider solution net to more products, and in turn make more money.
• Secondly.
• If a device is beyond repair through drypack, i.e., it has sever and intense damage that requires dismantling, because please
remember that drypack is designed for day to day spills and drops, then the customer will return to you for a further repair.
• Thirdly.
A customer has a wet device, you’ve sold him/her a drypack, and its worked for them – great, the upsell and cross sale of
products you will be able to offer them is an instant increase in your margins.
As you can see, drypack will create a win win situation for you.
Here is a typical example from iTECH Repair based in Wokingham, Berkshire.
Walk in customer has seen a Poster in the shop window for drypack
Customer purchases a drypack for RRP £9.99 - £12.99
– Customer could not leave the device as she did not have device with her, child had dropped water onto smart phone few hours
earlier
She takes the drypack and follows instructions
Smart phone is now working
– Customer returns to shop, and purchases a high water proof case, a new screen protector.
