Career Highlights
Delivery Manager – CISCO FreeBSD & Linux Group
Delivery Manager for CISCO’s FreeBSD Sustenance Engineering and Linux Migration Project. CISCO has this large
Enterprise Level Security Appliances (Software) for E-mail Called ESA (E-mail Security Appliance) and Web
Security Appliance (Software) called WSA (Web Security Appliance) these run on the top of base OS – FreeBSD.
CISCO obtained a FreeBSD Open Source License and then modified the FreeBSD to run ESA and WSA on the top
of the OS. The Applications are well integrated into the base OS, FreeBSD handles all service and support for the
lower level of the Application and interface to devices.
Delivery Manager for CISCO’s Linux Migration – Since FreeBSD is an Open Source license, the OS has been highly
customized to CISCO’s Applications, getting support and upgrades to the new releases o f the Open Source, and
customizing the public code to CISCO standards and requirements is a big overhead. Therefore, the plan was to
move the Applications and the Platform services (OS Services) to a new OS WindRiver from IBM.
4. Significant Highlights:
Delivery Manager - FreeBSD Support and WindRiver Migration
Recruit, Onboard and Train a 15 member team
Technical Training for the team on the Application and OS

Presentation to CISCO Management Program and Project Dash Board and Metrics
Technical Guidance for the team
Interfacing with the various peer Groups inside CISCO (ESA and WSA) to re solve cross platform-
Application Issues
Interfacing and driving Project and Program management meetings with India and US counterparts
