Rahul Gandhi: If proper RTI commissioners, Lokayukta are appointed in Gujarat, Modi will be in jail
Dahod: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi launched yet another scathing attack on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing a huge election rally at Dahod in Gujarat, the Congress leader lamented, “Modi talks loud of corruption but is
not seeing the convicted ministers in his cabinet. Congress enacted RTI - a powerful weapon to fight corruption. Every citizen is
legally entitled to gather any information about govt. Functioning. Lots of graft cases came out. But remember, there are no
sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat under Modi. There is only one chowkeedar - Modi. There is no proper Lokayukta too. The
day Gujarat has adequate RTI commissioners and proper Lokayukta, your chowkeedar (Modi) will be in jail”.
“Gujarat has developed in the past 60 years due to the hard works of its people. The diamond workers, textile workers as well as
the women who contributed high for Amul’s establishment had a good role in state’s progress. But, now, here is new leader
Modi ji, who claims credits for entire development in Gujarat as if the state was sleeping in the past 60 years. Now, he promises
to develop entire country too, as if nothing had taken place in our country in the past 60 years!” further said Rahul Gandhi.
“He roams around the country and urges the people to make him a chowkeedar (watchman). He wants people to hand over the
key of India to him. Remember, some chowkeedar loots too. Congress wants every Indian to become a watchman of the
country” said the Congress Vice President amid huge cheers from the crowd..
“This election is a fight between two ideologies. On one side there is Congress party which believes in love, brother hood and
unites people. It takes everyone along and aims at developing all. On the other side we have BJP which wants development of
only a selected group. It wants progress for just 2-3 business persons. It wants farmers remain as farmers and workers to remain
as mere workers” he said.
“We want people dream big. Over the past ten years we ensured that your money reached you back. Every year we allot Rs.
30000 cr for NREGA, to guarantee jobs to rural poor. It is your money, not of any business person. We ensure that every Indian
avail its benefits, without any discrimination. For the first time, people started realising their rights. Similarly we gave people
right to food by which every poor is assured with food” said the Congress leader.
2. “Just listen to Congress leader’s speeches. We never say ‘I ‘ but ‘we’. But Modi ji keeps on saying ‘mein, mein, mein...’ “I will do
it, I will do that, I developed Gujarat, I will develop India..” Tomorrow he also may say that he will transform the entire globe and
entire universe” mocked Rahul Gandhi.
He urged people to support Congress and elect party candidates in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

This election is a fight between two ideologies. On one side there is Congress party which believes in love, brother hood and
unites people. It takes everyone along and aims at developing all. On the other side we have BJP which wants development of
only a selected group. It wants progress for just 2-3 business persons. It wants farmers remain as farmers and workers to remain
as mere workers.
We want people dream big.
Similarly we gave people
right to food by which every poor is assured with food.
Earlier the governments used to snatch away poor farmers’ lands without giving proper compensation. We fought against this at
Niyamgiri and Bhatta-Parsaul and other places and enacted a revised Land Acquisition policy so that no one will grab any land
forcibly. Now everyone is ensured with 4 times more market price for the lands acquired. We also increased MSP for their crops
to maximum. We also enacted Tribal bill for Adivasis, but people in Gujarat could not avail its benefits.
What is happening under Gujarat model? About 45000 acres of land were given for at mere Rs 300 crore to a single industrialist
– Adani- by Modi govt. Adani, later, sold these lands at Rs. 800 per meter and earned huge profit. When Modi took over as CM,
the turnover of Adani was just Rs 3000 cr but today it is Rs. 40000 crore. The chowkeedar has given the key of Gujarat to Adani.
The govt there ignores the poor and the farmers. All benefits go to one industrialist.
When Congress gives Rs. 30000 cr to ensure jobs for entire poor, Modi govt gave Rs 45000 cr just to one businessman. The total
budget for education and health of Gujarat govt is just Rs 8000 cr! BJP and Modi had promised jobs in Gujarat, but
unemployment is rampant here. There about 27000 SC ST vacancies are still remaining vacant in the state.
Gujarat has developed in the past 60 years due to the hard works of its people. The diamond workers, textile workers as well as
the women who contributed high for Amul’s establishment had a good role in state’s progress. But, now, here is new leader
Modi ji, who claims credits for entire development in Gujarat as if the state was sleeping in the past 60 years. Now, he promises
to develop entire country too, as if nothing had taken place in our country in the past 60 years!
3. He roams around the country and urges the people to make him a chowkeedar (watchman). He wants people to hand over the
key of India to him. Remember, some chowkeedar loots too. Congress wants every Indian to become a watchman of the
country.
Modi talks loud of corruption but is not seeing the convicted ministers in his cabinet. Congress enacted RTI - a powerful weapon
to fight corruption. Every citizen is legally entitled to gather any information about govt. Functioning. Lots of graft cases came
out. But remember, there are no sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat under Modi. There is only one chowkeedar - Modi.
There is no proper Lokayukta too. The day Gujarat has adequate RTI commissioners and proper Lokayukta, your chowkeedar
(Modi) will be in jail. Gujarat has monopolized the loot.
We had held interactions with various sections of the society, before finalising our manifesto for 2014 polls. People had
expressed their happiness with our schemes of granting rights in jobs and food for the poor. But they told us about their
difficulties in availing hospital facilities. They told us that if somebody falls ill in a poor family, it is very difficult to avail adequate
healthcare facilities. We, therefore, decided to grant people a right to health in our manifesto. We will open the doors of
hospitals for the poor. We had started it in Rajasthan, now we will implement it across the country.
There are two types of governments. One type is that takes away people’s money and hands it over to one industrialist. We also
have Congress’ vision to ensure that people’s money reach back people.
We need industries. We must help business people. But we should never allow entire financial help is extended to just one
industrialist. We will never let it happen. Congress wants a balanced partnership between the people and business class.
Due to our right-based approach, we could free 15 cr people from poverty. Now a new class of people has been emerged in the
past ten years, which is above BPL but below the middle class. These are the street vendors, carpenters, security guards, truck
drivers, plumbers- those people who run this country. There are 70 cr people who fall in this category. Our entire focus is to
take this 70 cr people to the middle class in the next 5 years. It is not possible without boosting the manufacturing sector. We
will reform education sector, open more colleges and universities for them and will provide scholarships for their children. We
want them to dream big and make a good career.
The youth today, require adequate jobs. Nowadays, if you look at your watches and other devises, you can see a label ‘Made in
China’. I want this to be changed and ‘Made in India’ label in all such items. For development, our youth must get job. That is
why we have launched a new industrial corridors project– Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Chennai, Delhi-Kolkata- will generate more
jobs for our youth. We will have all modern infrastructures and dedicated railway lines in that corridor. We purchase several
items but the manufacturing is done in China. We want India to replace China in the future. Thousands of industries that are
going to come up in these corridors will be the backbone of India. Crore of youths will be able to secure jobs once this is
completed.
4. Just listen to Congress leader’s speeches. We never say ‘I ‘ but ‘we’. But Modi ji keeps on saying ‘mein, mein, mein...’. “I will do
it, I will do that, I developed Gujarat, I will develop India..” Tomorrow he also may say that he will transform the entire globe and
entire universe. He talks as if he has entire knowledge; as if he is just like God.
You have a good candidate. He is a scholar and has the ability to fight for you. He has been doing several development works for
you and please supports him and send him to Lok Sabha.
We even respect our enemies and we never abuse anyone. Just listen to the speeches BJP leaders. It is full of hatred and anger.
BJP never acknowledges the good works of their opponents. Congress leaders talk with respect even about their enemies. BJP
makes people fight Hindus with Muslims. Their friends in Maharashtra threaten people from UP and Bihar. Their politics is based
on anger. We witnessed communal clashes in UP due to BJP.
Support Congress and elect our candidates.
Thank you.
Jai Hind.
