B.1 Motivation
The teacher will show picture to the learners of some food items with
their nutritional information. Within five minutes the students will identify
the learners will the information on the labels of these food items.
Based on your opinion, what have observed about the information
label?
Is there any nutritional contents, contain the information?
Did you see the word calories? energy?
B.2 Activity
The teacher will let the learners read the text “Understanding Calories”.
After reading the learners will do a reflection on the text that they have
read.
How do you find the activity?
In your own opinion, what is the activity is all about?
B.3 ANALYSIS
1. What is calorie?
2. What unit is used in measuring energy?
3. Why is it important to understand calories?
B.4 ABSTRACTION
Define calorie.
Why calorie is used as measurement of energy?
What is the importance of studying calorie?

From their assignment (wrappers of food items with nutritional facts),
the learners will identify the calorie content of the food or beverage.
They will present their answer to the class.

2. What are the factors that will be included when burning calories?

V. ASSIGNMENT
The learners will interview a school athlete or a team coach.
