Over 400 million Pepsi Max bottles and cans carried a QR Code on it for the first time. These codes offer the mobile user, instant access to games, videos, websites, prizes and other entertainment at the swipe of a phone. Ahmed Abdel-Karim, marketing manager for Pepsi UK, said: "Pepsi is using QR codes to connect with, and engage, consumers in a new and exciting way wherever they are."
15. RECENT BEST PRACTICES: NUMBER TWO (Google) Google in the US recently distributed over 100,000 QR code stickers (decals) in the windows of local businesses nationwide. Each window decal carried a unique QR code that you can scan with your mobile to take you directly to that business's Google Place Page. Google has also just release a QR Code generator function to their URL shortening service goo.gl and promote the use of QR Codes for Android app downloads.
