Children’s publishers today are increasingly branching into cross-media and franchise development. They are creating new licensing divisions to control global rights and building consumer products teams to see variety of opportunities through to fruition. They are owning and controlling intellectual property in entirely new ways for the publishing business – evolving to look more like Hollywood studios.
