2. Your Call to Excellence
• 1 Corinthians 12:31
– But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto
you a more excellent way.
• Proverbs 12:26
– The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but
the way of the wicked seduceth them.
• Proverbs 17:27
– …A man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
• Philippians 1:10
– That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye
may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ

3. What is Excellence?
• The quality of being outstanding or
“extremely good”
• Extraordinary
• The state, quality or condition of excelling;
superiority
• Perfection; the state of being perfect

• Matthew 5:48
– Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven
is perfect.
• 2 Timothy 3:17
– That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto
all good works.

4. God Demands Excellence
• Ephesians 5:27
– That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having
spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy
and without blemish.
• Leviticus 1:3
– If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male
without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
• Malachi 1:8
– And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer
the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor;
will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD

7. Daniel, A Man of Excellence
• Daniel 6:3-4
