1. Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla
Escuela de Lenguas
To Whom It May Concern,
It is a pleasure to recommend MR. WILLIAM MORLEY TWEEDIE to your
organization.
Mr. Tweedie began his affiliation with our University in July of 2002 as a recruiter
of teachers. He also taught in our Undergraduate English Teacher Preparation
Program as a Visiting Professor, teaching the Teaching Practice 1 course,
Intermediate English (Lengua Meta 4), and Senior Literature courses. He also
taught the Composition course in our new Open/Distance Program for practising
teachers who have not yet achieved their degrees. He also taught low and upper
intermediate classes to students from 12 to 40 years of age through our
extension department with very good results. He was tireless in his efforts.
All of Mr. Tweedie’s students gave him excellent written assessments and said
they enjoyed his courses very much. Many of them requested he continue to
teach them in further courses but unfortunately the full time position we expected
to offer Mr. Tweedie was unavailable because of budget cut backs at the
University.
Mr. Tweedie was also engaged as a teacher trainer for our English Department
teachers to help bring new and modern methodologies to our teaching. His
enthusiasm was well received and I particularly appreciated his efforts to make
everyone think about the great responsibility we have in our jobs. He also
conducted seven four hour workshops for approximately eighty of the English
teachers in our other academic departments as well as for the teachers in our
Extension department. He introduced his new PRIME Approach and Method of
teaching in a very interactive style and teachers who have implemented some of
his ideas have expressed very positive results. One of the workshops was an
introduction to the theory and application of Multiple Intelligences and this was
especially interesting and enjoyable.
We regret that we could not extend Mr. Tweedie’s contract here as his dedication
and enthusiasm were refreshing and very effective with the students. He is very
organized, well prepared, and has demonstrated excellent leadership qualities. I
am sure he will be a very positive addition to your staff.
Yours respectfully,
Profa. Consuelo Carne Marin
