What is Jing?,[object Object],Jing is a cross-platform application that can be downloaded for free. ,[object Object],Jing enables anyone to take static screen captures of computer screen (screenshots) as well as record short videos of onscreen action called screencasts. ,[object Object],These screencasts can instantly be shared with others, whether over the web or via email, ,[object Object]

GET STARTED WITH JING,[object Object]

Go to: http://www.techsmith.com/jing/,[object Object]

STEP 2,[object Object],Download and installing Jing,[object Object]

1,[object Object],Scroll down and Click ‘download free version’ of Jing,[object Object],Next, click ‘Download for Windows’ if you are using Windows program. ,[object Object],2,[object Object]

3,[object Object],Jing_setup.exe will appear. Click ‘Save File’ to save the setup in your computer. After you completed save it, run the setup and start installing.,[object Object],At the end of the installing process, you need to sign up.,[object Object],4,[object Object]

STEP 3,[object Object],Find and launch Jing,[object Object]

1,[object Object],After the installation and sign up is complete, Jing sun will automatically launch on your desktop screen,[object Object]

2,[object Object],When you move over the “sun” three options will emerge. The most useful one is Capture.,[object Object]

STEP 4,[object Object],Take a capture,[object Object]

1,[object Object],Click ‘Capture’,[object Object]

2,[object Object],You can see parts of your screen go darker as you move the cross hairs around the screen,[object Object],The highlighted bright area is the part that will be captured. Let go when you’ve got the area you want selected.,[object Object],Click and drag to select a portion of your screen.,[object Object],4,[object Object],3,[object Object]

STEP 5,[object Object],Capture an image,[object Object]

1,[object Object],Click the image button,[object Object]

You can use the image tools to annotate your capture,[object Object],The image will be preview like this,[object Object],2,[object Object],3,[object Object],Example of annotation using image tools,[object Object],5,[object Object],The Date/Time stamp is the default filename. Change if desired.,[object Object],4,[object Object],Click ‘save’ button to save it manually.,[object Object],7,[object Object],6,[object Object],If you click ‘share via Screencast.com’ button your image or video is uploaded to your Jing folder on Screencast.com. You can paste the link into your email, document or online conversation.,[object Object]

1,[object Object],Click capture and highlight the area you want to record a video ,[object Object],Make sure yourmicrophone is connected and that you’re not muted,[object Object],Click the video button ,[object Object],2,[object Object],3,[object Object]

4,[object Object],A three second countdownwill appear, and yourscreen will then berecorded. You can perform any actions you’d like to show while narrating along.,[object Object],There is a five minutes time limit.,[object Object],Click stop when you are done.,[object Object],5,[object Object]
