Increase students’ awareness about malaria
Give advice on how and what to do to prevent malaria

Description Students worked in group researching and gathered information about
malaria. documents, pictures of insect giving malaria, stagnant water,
people who has malaria specially children and pregnant women, dirty
places around houses.
The uses of technology in the fight against malaria made the project more
attractive and successful it also motivated the participation of students in
the task.

Teacher Planning and Management
A meeting with other teachers was held in order to support inter-
disciplinary in the development of the project.
Background & Planning:
 Students were divided in to groups, the task of each group was
given and a leader for each group was chosen .
Researches on all methods of prevention against malaria, how
to increase people’s awareness about malaria, how to cure it
(students went to the hospital use pictures and visual aids as
support).
How to write and send e-mail.
This task was done by students.
Each group analyzed the results of their work, classified ideas
opinions and advices and made graphics with the statistics they
have got to know the evolution and the frequency of malaria in
each month of the year. They use Microsoft office excel and
power point.
Students sent mail to N.G.O. and ministry in charge of health to
come to their area during the rainy season telling them what they
should and shouldn't to protect themselves against malaria.
Final results presentation with power point.

Teaching Resources
Project anticipation: The participation of other teachers can be easily
identify:
The French teacher helps students to get good books and right places
they where they can found the information.
In English class students worked in group with Microsoft word to
separate ideas, opinions and advices.
With the S.V.T. teacher students developed researches on the statistic
cases on malaria they have got and use Microsoft excel and made
graphics with the results to know the evolution of the dease
Students with the help of teachers went to the computer ‘s lab to set
the expected results of the project using excel and power point.
Student Project Overview: Students learned a lot of things because
they were the principal actors of the project. They also developed the
basis skills such as writing, reading and speaking. They also enjoyed the
accessibility to computers and use of software like word excel and
power point.
The results were so successful that other teachers plan to use more
computers in other activities of the school.
