OUR STORY BEGAN NEARLY NINE
DECADES AGO
When you select a Globus vacation, you’re choosing a company
that has defined the way today’s travelers experience the world. It
all began on a spring day in 1928. While using his family’s rowboat
to transport lumber across beautiful Lake Lugano in Switzerland,
Antonio Mantegazza became inspired to share the stories of his
home with others. He soon began transporting tourists instead…
and Globus was born.
THE WORLD’S MOST HIGHLY AWARDED TOUR OPERATOR
When you do things the right way...for the right reasons, people
notice. By delivering an outstanding travel experience and focusing
on our travelers—every time—we’ve earned more accolades than
any other tour operator.
COMMITTED TO OUR PLANET
We’re committed to protecting the places we visit. By employing
environmentally friendly motorcoaches and partnering with
preservation and sustainability initiatives, we’re working to
ensure the world’s icons will be here to thrill travelers for
generations to come.

hands) thatched houses that can be found only here. Continue to the
scenic town of Kanazawa, situated between the mountains and the Sea of
Japan and once the country’s richest region. Your Tour Director leads you

DAY 7 KANAZAWA–KYOTO.
This morning, board the THUNDERBIRD EXPRESS TRAIN for your journey to
Kyoto. Upon arrival, stop at SANJUSANGENDO TEMPLE, famous for its 1,001

Immerse yourself in the Japanese culture
and hospitality at a ryokan (Japanese inn).
Your ryokan, Gion Hatanaka, features
traditional touches—tatami mat floors, a

the chance to experience a Japanese-
style bath—as well as the modern
convenience of a private bathroom. Included: transfers to/from ryokan
from/to hotel in Kyoto; traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast.
NOTE: Space is limited. Ask for price at time of booking.
DAY 8 KYOTO.
This morning starts with a visit to stunning Kinkakuji, the TEMPLE OF THE
GOLD PAVILION. Next, visit YUZEN HANDMADE CORNER to learn about
the Yuzen dyeing technique used to decorate kimonos by painting dye
directly on the cloth. You will be invited to participate in making your own
souvenir using this traditional method. For lunch, participate in a special
JAPANESE COOKING CLASS. Under the instruction of a local chef
you will learn how to make miso soup, teriyaki chicken, and makizushi,
more commonly known as a sushi roll. The afternoon is at your leisure to
explore this fascinating city on your own. (B,L)
DAY 9 KYOTO. NARA EXCURSION.
This morning, take an excursion to NARA, the oldest capital of Japan.
Here, visit two separate UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First, at Nara
Park, is TODAIJI TEMPLE, built in 752 AD and one of Japan’s most
famous significant temples. Rebuilt after a fire in 1692, the temple is
only two-thirds its original size, yet remains the world’s largest wooden
building. The Daibutsu (Giant Buddha) inside the main hall is made of
copper and bronze, and is the largest in all of Japan, weighing in at 250
tons and standing some 49 feet tall! Nearby is KASUGA SHRINE, known
for its 3,000 stone and bronze lanterns. Return to Kyoto for some leisure
time. Tonight, your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner to celebrate your
discovery of Japan. (B,D)

DAY 5 MOUNT FUJI AREA–KYOTO.
This morning, board one of Japan’s famous BULLET TRAINS bound
for Kyoto. Upon arrival, visit the FUSHIMI INARI SHRINE, renowned
for the thousands of brightly colored Torii Gates. After lunch in a local
restaurant, continue on to the Higashiyama District to visit KIYOMIZU
TEMPLE, the “Pure Water Temple,” with stunning views over Kyoto.
Along the way, walk through the busy streets where shops and
restaurants have been catering to pilgrims for centuries. This evening,
you may choose to stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. (B,L)
TRADITIONAL RYOKAN STAY
Immerse yourself in the Japanese culture
and hospitality at a ryokan (Japanese inn).
Your ryokan, Gion Hatanaka, features
traditional touches—tatami mat floors, a
thin sleeping mattress on the floor, and
the chance to experience a Japanese-
style bath—as well as the modern
convenience of a private bathroom. Included: transfers to/from ryokan
from/to hotel in Kyoto; traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast.
NOTE: Space is limited. Ask for price at time of booking.
DAY 6 KYOTO.
DAY 7 KYOTO. NARA EXCURSION.
This morning, stop at SANJUSANGENDO TEMPLE, famous for its 1,001
statues of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy. Flanking the main statue
are 1,000 more life-sized statues, covered in gold leaf, with 40 arms said to
have the power to save 25 worlds. Then, depart Kyoto for NARA, the oldest
capital of Japan. Here, visit two separate UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
First, at Nara Park, is TODAIJI TEMPLE, built in 752 AD and one of Japan’s
most famous significant temples. Rebuilt after a fire in 1692, the temple
is only two-thirds its original size, yet remains the world’s largest wooden

DAY 4 HO CHI MINH CITY–DANANG–HOI AN.
After a short flight to Danang, enjoy a picturesque journey by motorcoach
to Hoi An. Along the way, visit CHINA BEACH, landing point for U.S.
soldiers during the Vietnam War. Hoi An is Vietnam’s active trading center
and a town that has been largely preserved, with architecture that reflects
the influence of Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and British
traders. Hoi An is also where French missionary Alexandre de Rhodes
introduced Catholicism and Roman script to Vietnam. (B,D)
DAY 5 HOI AN.
Today starts with a CRUISE on the Thu Bon River. Along the way, meet
with a local fisherman who will teach you about their fishing methods and
give you a FISHING LESSON, where you will learn how to throw and
retrieve a traditional round fishing net called a ro. Afterward, you will have
a chance to throw the net yourself and see what you catch! Later, continue
with a WALKING TOUR of Hoi An, visiting an old MERCHANT HOUSE,
the HOI AN MUSEUM, a CHINESE ASSEMBLY HALL, and the Japanese
Covered Bridge. Then, free time to enjoy this quaint town further or relax
at your beach resort. (B)
DAY 6 HOI AN–DANANG–HUE.
Stop in Danang to visit the CHAM MUSEUM, then continue north over
spectacular Hai Van Pass (weather permitting), considered to be one of
the most scenic in all of Vietnam, before arriving in Hue. One of Vietnam’s
former capitals, Hue is a beautiful, welcoming city that remains a cultural
and religious center. Upon arrival, visit the IMPERIAL CITADEL and the
THIEN MU PAGODA, the unofficial symbol of the city. This evening, enjoy
an imperial banquet at a popular local restaurant. (B,L,D)
DAY 7 HUE–HANOI.
This morning’s sightseeing provides a unique window into Vietnam
and its complex past. Visit the TOMBS of the NGUYEN EMPERORS:
the KHAI DINH MAUSOLEUM and the ROYAL TOMB of TU DUC.
Later, fly to Hanoi, the nation’s capital and one of Southeast Asia’s
most engaging cities. (B)
DAY 8 HANOI.
Today, take time to look at the life of Ho Chi Minh, the father of modern
Vietnam. First, visit the MAUSOLEUM and the humble cottage from which
“Uncle Ho” ruled Vietnam until his death in 1969. Next on the agenda
are the ONE PILLAR PAGODA and HO CHI MINH MUSEUM. You will
also visit the ancient TEMPLE OF LITERATURE, more than 900 years old
and Hanoi’s first university, followed by the infamous HANOI HILTON.
After lunch in a local restaurant take a “CYCLO” ride around the city,
followed by a WALKING TOUR through the fascinating Old Quarter, 36
ancient streets where peddlers trade as they have for centuries. An early
dinner this evening is followed by a fascinating performance of Hanoi’s

11th century. (B,L,D)
DAY 9 HANOI–HA LONG BAY.
Travel from Hanoi through the fertile countryside to Hon Gai, gateway
to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the Gulf of
Tonkin, the bay is dotted with more than 3,000 limestone islands carved
into fanciful shapes by the action of the water. Tunnels, caves, and weirdly
shaped outcroppings with imaginative names can be found on many of
the small islets that are sprinkled across the bay. Board a CRUISE that
takes you to explore the caves, and admire the beauty and scale before
stopping at one of the many secluded bays. (B,L,D)

Constructed between the 9th and 13th centuries, the temples were
built around the Khmer interpretations of Indian religious and political

among ancient ruins anywhere in the world. First, visit the best preserved
and most famous of all the temples, ANGKOR WAT, honoring the Hindu
god Vishnu. Featuring five trademark towers and stunning bas-reliefs,
it has become a symbol of Cambodia. Next stop is ANGKOR THOM to
see the BAYON TEMPLE. One of the few Buddhist temples in Angkor, it
features some 200 striking faces carved in 54 towers and impressive bas-
reliefs. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. This evening, witness one of
the world’s most amazing experiences: sunset at Angkor Wat! (B,L)
DAY 12 SIEM REAP.
Today, continue your sightseeing of the Angkor temples. Visit BANTEAY
SREI, a unique temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva that was
built on a small scale from red sandstone, which can be carved like
wood. Unlike the other temples, TA PROHM has been left relatively
untouched. Surrounded by jungle, tree roots grow over and through the
ruin walls, and you will experience the temple with the same wonder as
the early explorers who discovered it. This afternoon, enjoy a bit of time
at your leisure. This evening, enjoy a traditional APSARA DANCE
PERFORMANCE, where the ancient Khmer culture is brought to life by
talented dancers, singers, and musicians. (B,D)

WHAT TO KNOW
BEFORE YOU GO
YOU ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU GET
OUR ITINERARIES TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT’S INCLUDED
Read our tour descriptions and you’ll understand the real value we offer.
Each day’s agenda is spelled out, with inside visits and special features
indicated in UPPERCASE, so you know exactly what’s included in the price.
HAND-SELECTED HOTELS
Excellent accommodations are vital to your enjoyment on vacation, and
we’re proud to be associated with some of the world’s finest hotels, most
of which are deluxe (D), superior first-class (SF), first-class (F), or moderate
first-class (MF). In remote areas, there may be no hotels available in these
categories, so we choose the best available (BA) hotels. Each hotel is rated
by our quality controllers following standards set by the independent Hotel
Travel Index and by national tourist boards. Hotels are listed on itinerary
pages, although it may be necessary to substitute with an alternate hotel
of equivalent standard. Your travel documents will list hotel addresses with
telephone and fax numbers, plus you can find more details on our website.
INCLUDED MEALS
With Globus, mealtimes are designed to help you enjoy the best of each
city along the way. Start each day of your vacation the right way—with an
included breakfast! The type of breakfast you’ll enjoy is specified in each
itinerary. Lunch and dinner highlights are tailored to each vacation and
may include welcome and farewell dinners, as well as lunches and dinners
at local restaurants to give you a true taste of your destination. Plus, we
give you freedom to take advantage of the best a city has to offer by not
inluding lunches and dinners where dining locally is a major attraction.
NOTE: We typically cannot process requests for special meals. Some
hotels and restaurants may be able to provide for a special diet—
vegetarian, salt-free, etc.—but there is no way to guarantee this and if
available, there may be an additional charge associated. Please ask your
Tour Director for assistance.
THE FINEST TEAM OF TRAVEL EXPERTS
With Globus, you benefit from the expertise we bring to every vacation.
We set very high standards and are dedicated to selecting the right
Tour Directors, Local Guides, and Local Hosts. These experts are from
the region through which you’re traveling, and they share their vast
knowledge of the areas and help you maximize each moment. Beyond the
professionals you meet on tour are the men and women working diligently
behind the scenes. Our extensive technical support network carefully
monitors vacations in progress, ensuring your trip goes smoothly and
allowing us to deliver unique, quality travel experiences every time.
TRAVEL IN STYLE
When you step aboard your Globus private motorcoach you’ll be immediately
impressed by the comfort and amenities: reclining seats equipped with
individual air-conditioning vents, high-fidelity speakers so you won’t miss
a moment of Tour Director commentary, and extra leg room. While other
companies install and sell 53 seats, our average group size is just 36 travelers,
so you’ll enjoy more seat space. For the comfort of all passengers, our
motorcoaches are non-smoking, however, there are opportunities to smoke
during the frequent stops. We also have a custom of daily seat rotation to
ensure everyone benefits from a variety of views.

(50 lbs.) Carry-on bag dimensions should not exceed 30x28x14cm
(12”x11”x6”). We are unable to accept a second suitcase or any luggage
exceeding these limits. Some vacations may have other restrictions,
which will be noted in your Travel Documents.
Please note that air carriers, cruise lines, and other forms of transportation
may have other restrictions and requirements, including weight, and
we recommend that you contact the suppliers directly for additional
information. Some airlines also charge fees for checked baggage, and
these fees are not included in the vacation or airfare package price. Check
with your airline directly for baggage information and regulations. Globus is
not responsible for additional baggage fees imposed by air carriers.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TWIN-BEDDED ROOM
A DOUBLE ROOM?
A double room is a room designed to accommodate two people, though
not necessarily with two separate beds. A twin-bedded room has two
separate beds of any size; this is what we usually reserve for our guests.
WHAT SIZE IS A TRIPLE ROOM?
A triple room is the same size as a twin bedded room. It will have beds to
accommodate three people, but we cannot guarantee there will be more
than two beds. If there are only two beds, a rollaway may be requested
but is not guaranteed.

WHAT IS THE SAFETYNET PROTECTION POLICY?
To ensure your trip is worry- and hassle-free, even when booking, Globus
offers two “SafetyNet” options for AU$75 per person. You have the
opportunity to select either SafetyNet Transfer Protection OR SafetyNet
Cancellation Protection to best suit your needs or concerns.
SafetyNet Transfer Protection enables Globus passengers to amend
tour bookings up to 24 hours prior to the departure date to another tour
departing in the same year of travel, (once only) without any applicable
cancellation charges or penalties.
OR

WHY AM I ASKED TO GIVE MY PASSPORT NAME, GENDER
DATE OF BIRTH WHEN BOOKING FLIGHTS?
Due to increased travel security around the world, the Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) requires airlines to collect this information
in accordance with the Secure Flight Program enacted by the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security. TSA information must exactly match
the full passport name. The airline reservation must match the first and
last name. If this information is not accurate, you may not be allowed to
board the plane. It is important to provide this information accurately at
the time of booking, as any changes to your air booking, which includes
spelling, could be subject to a change fee, penalties, higher fares, new
schedule, and/or cancellation.
WHY IS MY CONTACT INFORMATION COLLECTED WHEN I BOOK?
There may be times when unforeseen events beyond our control impact
travel schedules and potentially disrupt cruises, tours, or packages. These
include, but are not limited to, severe weather conditions, acts of nature,
and government travel advisories. Under such circumstances, it is critical
that the Globus family of brands be able to contact you immediately and
reliably—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to make sure we’ve
informed you of any possible changes to your travel.
DO I NEED A PASSPORT A VISA?
When traveling outside your home country, a passport is required.
Some countries require a visa. All travelers should consult with
appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed.

SAFETYNET PROTECTION POLICY
Globus is dedicated to ensuring your trip is worry and hassle free, even
when booking. Should you be uncertain what your commitments will
be leading up to your departure, Globus offer a SafetyNet Protection
policy*, for $75 per person (payable at time of deposit).
The SafetyNet Transfer Protection* enables Globus passengers to
amend their tour up to 24 hours prior to the tour departure date to
another tour departing in 2016, (once only) without any applicable
cancellation charges or penalties. OR you can utilise The SafetyNet
Cancellation Protection* which enables Globus passengers to cancel
their tour in full – up to 30 days prior to the tour departure date in 2016,
without any applicable cancellation charges or penalties.
*CONDITIONS OF THE SAFETYNET PROTECTION POLICY
The $75 SafetyNet Protection must be paid at the time of the tour
deposit and is payable per person per booking (not per tour) and
is non-refundable.
The SafetyNet Transfer Protection and SafetyNet Cancellation
Protection applies to the tour, associated pre/post accommodation
and transfers booked directly with Globus. The SafetyNet Protection
does not apply to any airfares booked and ticketed via Globus, or
any products purchased via another wholesale or retail supplier.
The SafetyNet Protection does not apply to any service charge or
cancellation fee charged to you by your Travel Agent.
Passengers can only use “one” of the two SafetyNet Protection
Policies; choose either the SafetyNet Transfer Protection, or the
SafetyNet Cancellation Protection, not both. For example: if a
passenger uses the SafetyNet Transfer Protection to amend their 2016
tour (say 48 hours prior to the original tours departure date) to a later
2016 Globus tour departure date, they then cannot use the SafetyNet
Cancellation Protection to cancel their Globus tour in full without
incurring the applicable cancellation charges or penalties – as per the
2016 Globus brochure terms and conditions.
