Personal Statement
During my time at school I had the potential to succeed, but found
the way my teachers related to students wasn’t how I learnt. From
there I didn’t do my best at my exams and I struggled to find
where to go or what to do. I have the most supportive parents and
they helped me find a college where education wasn’t just about
books. I found something I loved and became passionate about
learning. I found people who took education to a personal level.
Not only did I do well in college, but from there, I became an
activities instructor and became more qualified than I thought
possible. I learnt more ways to relate to people than I knew and
became the best in my area. I then became the principle trainer of
that company and went on to teaching others how to deliver that
experience. I worked with underprivileged youths, people with
disabilities both mental and physical and changed their lives from
only a week of knowing them. After passing my knowledge and
experience to other instructors I took my confidence and took a
large jump to work on cruise ships in America. After one contract
on a cruise ship my potential was acknowledged straight away
and I became part of a small select team to open a brand new
ship in Germany. With that, myself and one other created an
activity program like no other, and received the best results ever
known in the industry. I also worked alongside Dj’s and
entrepreneurs to introduce a piece of Dj equipment to the world
and cruise ships. There are only 4 pieces in the entire world and I
personally showcased this equipment. I also wrote a teaching
manual on how to Dj and taught classes on the cruise ship to
teenagers and adults who would normally never get a chance to
do this. I still get messages from these people who want my
advice because I have inspired them so much.
I have been to 28 different countries and countless cities and
states. And all of this from a young boy with no want of education.
And all it took was the right people to help me get to where I am
now. What I want now is to let others know how possible it is and
how with a bit of support, education in many forms is the stepping
stone to incredible things.
