Oracle Enterprise Manager is a set of system management tools from Oracle for managing Oracle products and some non-Oracle products. It has two versions - a web-based version for managing individual databases and servers collectively, and a GUI-based version with additional licensed management packs. Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c adds capabilities for application, middleware, database, Exadata, hardware and cloud management, as well as lifecycle management, monitoring, and application quality management. It can also manage some non-Oracle products through extensions.

2. Oracle Enterprise Manager
 A set of system management tools from Oracle for managing the business

 These tools monitor the Oracle environment, automating tasks to make
database application and cloud management easier for business.

3. Oracle Enterprise Manager has 2 versions available –
Web Based Enterprise Manager comprising –
 Database Control – an application to manage one Oracle Database.
 Grid Control – the interface to enable central management of the Oracle
stack from one point.
 Enterprise Manager Agents – collect data on servers to feed the Grid

4. GUI Based Enterprise Manager comprises the following management
packs (each one must be licensed separately)

 Oracle Diagnostics Pack – ensures high availability of mission critical

5. Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c comes with added features and solutions

Application management solutions for Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel,

of infrastructure tasks for Oracle Linux and Solaris, also establishes a cloud
infrastructure solution for Solaris and SPARC technologies.

management accordant with application targets in the Cloud Control user
interface
