① Sluice Valves
Sluice valves are primarily used to permit or prevent the flow of liquid in both directions. These valves
are designed to be fully opened or closed & typically should not be used for regulating flow. So, these
valves are used when a straight line flow of liquid & minimum restriction is desired.
These valves generally conforms to IS 14846 and flanged ends are typically drilled as per IS 1538 table 4 & 6 but
can be provided as per any flange dimensional standard on request.
The pressure ratings are: For Cast Iron - PN1.0 / PN1.6 , For Cast Steel / Ductile Iron – above PN 1.6

Non-return valves are also called check valves and some are known as reflux valves. These valves
normally allows the fluid to flow in only one direction & restricts the flow from the other direction.
These valves generally conforms to IS 5312 part-I & part-II and flanged ends are typically drilled as per IS 1538
table 4 & 6 but can be provided as per any flange dimensional standard on request.

Butterfly valves are typically used for regulating a flow, though it can be used for isolating a flow
also. These are opted for light weight. At fully opened state the flow is almost unrestricted
resulting in low head loss.

Air valves are characterised as having a single or double orifice. In KAV,
