5. l'Elba Elba is the biggest island of the Tuscan Archipelagus and it's part of a National Park. There were iron mines in the past and Napoleon was sent here on his exile

9. Pianosa

10. L'Isola di Pianosa The small island of Pianosa is about 10.25 square km. Its name comes from the Italian “pianura” (flat). Its highest point stands 22 m. On clear days, Elbans see Pianosa as a dark blue line over the lighter blue sea.

11. Isola di Montecristo

12. Isola di Montecristo This small island is probably best known as a fictional setting in the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, but the actual island does not correspond closely to the description in the novel. Now it's part of a NationalPark.

13. Isola del giglio

L'Isola del Giglio This island is separated by a 16 km stretch of sea from the Argentario promontory, in Tuscany: mainly mountainous, it consists almost entirely of granites. 90% of its surface is covered by Mediterranean vegetation alternated with large pine forests and numerous vineyards. The coast is 27 km long, made up of rocks, smooth cliffs and several bays.

16. L'Isola di Giannutri This is an island with the shape of a half moon in the Tuscan Archipelago. It's well known for its bays, the wild vegetation and the antique Roman Villa. An opportunity for a swim in the crystal clear water or for a walk around the inside of the island.
