To whom it may concern:
I had the pleasure of hiring Patrick Andresen as an intern for our software development group here in Lafayette,
Colorado. Patrick worked full-time for us over the summer of 2015 and continued in a part-time capacity through the end
of this year.
Patrick took on a variety of tasks, supporting both the software developers and the quality assurance engineers. He
started with migrating hundreds of manual tests to Zephyr, a JIRA test management suite. He has been thorough and
attentive to details throughout execution of this task.
Patrick also worked with our software architect to implement automated tests for critical areas of our product. These
tests were manual tests that typically took 2 people about 1 week to run and now they run in a matter of minutes. The
tests also provide output on pass/fail status for reporting purposes, which is important for our product to be accepted by
our customers. This required coding in Java, HTML, and our Fit framework, including setting up his own Eclipse
development environment. He also gained experience in working as part of a team, where we use JIRA to track our work
and Perforce to manage our code.
Patrick has been enthusiastic and participated in our Agile team meetings, learning about working as part of an Agile
team. His work has greatly benefited our team this year and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Susan McNamara, BIOVIA Director, Software Development
