A new study found that while vegetarians tend to be healthier than meat-eaters in terms of nutrition, smoking, drinking and physical activity, they are more likely to experience mental health issues like depression and anxiety. The study analyzed surveys from over 50,000 people and found vegetarians were 28% more likely to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety, and 18% more likely to experience depression compared to the general population. However, vegetarians did score higher on nutrition.
