The first conditional


The first conditional is used to talk about possibilities, in the present for the
                                     future.


                                 Structure:

                   Present simple               Future
             If +subject+ infinitive verb ,+ will + V1                 simple

So imagine I have a test tomorrow and I have to study today if I want to get
                              a good grade.
                    If I study, I will get a good grade.


       To express a negative idea we use don’t/doesn’t and/or won’t:
         If I don’t study, I won’t pass (or) If I don’t study, I will fail.
Match the sentences halves and write out the
complete sentence
   1-if you don’t get up soon             E-you will miss the bus
                                          A-the teacher will be angry
   2-if you are late for class again
   3-if you don’t take a map              D- you will get lost

   4- if it is sunny                      C- we will go to the park

   5-if we see a restaurant               F- we will stop and have lunch

   6-if you don’t study                   B- you won’t pass the exam

                          A-the teacher will be angry
                          B- you won’t pass the exam
                          C- we will go to the park
                          D- you will get lost
                          E-you will miss the bus
                          F- we will stop and have lunch
First conditional quiz
