Personal Statement
I am a dedicated well organised and enthusiastic individual; I have initiative and drive to take
on a new dynamic role. I am punctual, reliable and trustworthy with excellent
communication skills. In my previous and current roles I feel that they have given me the
skills and attributes that will enhance any challenging role I take on. I have previously
managed a team of 11 people (plus volunteers) and welcome the opportunity again.
Career History
September 2005 to Present – Peterborough City Council, Honeyhill Learning Centre –
Office Manager and PA to the Head of the Centre.
Honeyhil centre is part of the pupil referral service within Peterborough City Council, for
students aged 14 – 16 years, these students have been excluded from mainstream education
for a number of reasons. At Honeyhill we provide alternative education options to help them
gain work and life skills to fulfil their potential.
Within my role at Honeyhill I liaise with head teachers, school governers, members of the
management committee, parent/carers, police and external providers. Daily I manage
difficult parents and pupil conflict in a professional manner proving I am a competent
mediator.
Administrative Duties; letter writing, managing incoming and outgoing post, arranging and
minute taking of appointments/meetings, arrange courses/events in house and with
external providers, monitor and track employee sickness, manage training records, maintain
personnel records of a confidential and sensitive matter.
Finance; Budget management, negotiate course costs with external providers, manage petty
cash, manage site procurement, stocktaking, and provide monthly financial updates as
requested.
IT Skills required for the role; Word, Excel, Oracle, Integris G2 (database).
In 2013 I took an extra job as a home Care worker for Bluebird Care I did this job at the
weekends until 2014.
1997 to 2005 – Stamford YMCA – Childcare Manager, Radcliffe Road, Stamford.
Direct report: 11 permanent staff plus volunteers.
My main responsibility was to manage the successful running of the Stamford YMCA (which
provide affordable childcare for 60 children a day aged from 5 to 12 years) on a daily basis,
including:
• Managing the financial running of the programmes and clubs
2. • Organising excursions
• Marketing
• Legal compliance with the Children’s Act with regards to DBS checks, personnel record
keeping, delivering child protection training in house, adult: child ratio.
Volunteer Work
I volunteered for the Stamford Food Bank from 2012 to 2013.

• Team Teach refresher training (Programme in Positive Handling Strategies within a
Holistic Framework gained in 2009.
• St Johns Ambulance First Aid at Work Certificate gained 2009 now expired but
would be willing to retrain.
• Excel beginners and Excel Proficient gained in 2006.
• NEBS (City & Guilds) Introductory to Management gained in 2002.
• New College Stamford – BTEC National Diploma in Childcare gained 1997.
• RSA Computer Keyboard Skills gained in 1996.
1996 – 1975 Shoreditch Secondary Modern School in London – CSE’s in Maths, English, PE,
Science, Typing, Office Skills and Housecraft.
I raised a family from 1977 until I went to Stamford College full time to retrain.
