How does the role of design evolve as your business grows? Design should happen in stages, starting with good design decisions that you implement consistently over time.

As your business grows, focus on developing brand standards so that everyone who helps to communicate your brand does so consistently.

And as you have the resources, build design into the DNA of your business, from the way your products and services are designed, to the tiniest details like the design of your invoices and your email signatures.

And finally, don't get seduced into letting a focus on design distract you from the profit generating activities in your business.

Let your design focus grow as your business does, and aspire to make design part of the way you do business.
