Four years ago, my bestfriendandI decidedtogo campingon the beach(PuntaVeleros) after
a greatyear at our jobs.We wentshoppingatPlaza Vea for everythingwe needed:coal,meat,
sausages, drinks, and different types of snacks.
Havingeverythingready,we gotinmycar andheadedforthe beach.Whenwe arrived,we had
to set up our tent, however, neither of us knew how to set it up. We had to help ourselves by
watchingvideosonYouTube.We wereinthe middleof settingupthe tentwhenIgotacall from
my mom.
The call was to give me some sad news, one of my aunts had just passed away in the city of
Negritos and my mom wanted me to take her to my aunt's house in my car. So, we had to
disassemble everythingthatwe hadadvancedandtake themtothe car to be able to loadthem
in it.
When I tried to open the car door, I realized that I didn't have the car keys, so we couldn't get
in. Thinking back, I remembered that the keys were left in the trunk, they fell there when we
took out all the things to camp.
We were there inthe parkinglotof the beach,withalmostnopeople around,notknowingwhat
to do and with little lighting. We tried to force the car door open, but any attempts we made
onlymade the car alarm go off.A young local man saw us and approachedus to findout what
was goingon.With a bit of distrust,we toldhimaboutthe problemwe were in.He askedus to
wait and went in search of a long piece of wire. The young man used thiswire withgreat skill
and dexterityandbymakinga movementhere andthere,he managedtoopenthe door of the
car. We thanked him very much for his help. So, we headed to Talara, I left my friend at her
house, and I went to pick up my mother to take her to Negritos.
Since that daywe have nevertriedto go backto camp, that bad experience markedus,we fear
that something like this will happen again.
