Dear Mr. Víctor Carrasco.
I am writing to you in response to your announcement for the position of Editor, which
appeared in last Friday's ad for the newspaper "El Comercio."
I am twenty-seven years old and have just finished my studies in Communication
Sciences, during which I intend to work. Ideally, I am looking for a job where I can hone
my career. This makes working for the newspaper "El Comercio" particularly attractive to
me.
I believe that I am well prepared for this job since last summer I had the experience of
working in a local newspaper in my city. I think it is also worth mentioning that I love
researching, reading and writing, in my spare time I write little stories. Therefore, I would
be more than happy to support your editorial and be of great help to your company.
In terms of personal qualities, I believe I am hard-working, sociable and eager to learn
new skills. I can also speak English, which may be an advantage in the international
section. Since I am already on vacation, I could begin work immediately.
I would be delighted to attend an interview as soon as possible. As requested, I enclose
my curriculum vitae and the contact details of my referee, Mr. Gerson Bouby, whose
editorial I worked on last summer.
Yours faithfully,
Karla Castro Pacheco.
