2. Introduction
• According to the WHO, a hospital is a residential establishment which provides
short term and long term medical care. Medical care consisting of observational,
diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitate for the persons suffering or suspected to
be suffering from the disease or injury.
• The best known type of hospital is the general hospital, which typically has an
emergency department to treat urgent health problems ranging from fire and
accident victims to a heart attack. A district hospital typically is the major health
care facility in its region, with a large number of beds for patients who need long
term care.
• Hospitals were visited on December 28, 2018 in Jaipur. Hospitals which were
visited are Rukmani Devi Beni Prasad Jaipuria Hospital, Khandaka Hospital and Fortis
Hospital.

• Rukmani Devi Beni Prasad Jaipuria Hospital, a general hospital, has been
constructed on an ideally situated 7½ acres plot of land on prestigious Jawaharlal
Nehru Marg, Jaipur.
• The hospital is being run by the Government of Rajasthan with help and advice of
the Trustees of Rukmani Devi Jaipur Charitable Trust.
• The departments which were visited are OPD, IPD, CSSD, Radiology, Child care,
Dental Care Department, Skin disease Department, Orthopaedic Department,
Gynaecology Department, Laboratory, Operation Theatre, etc.
5. Rukmani Devi Beni Prasad Jaipuria Hospital
Observations:
• Well-equipped infrastructure in the emergency department. Special facilities for
the trauma patients.
• Specified departmentalization in the hospital.
• Free medicines are distributed to the patients under the scheme “Mukhyamantri
Nishulak Dava Vitran Yojana”.
• “Aashray” an initiative by the hospital was taken to prevent the new-born child
which are thrown here and there.
7. Khandaka Hospital
• The Khandaka Hospital is North India's first ISO 9001: 2015 certified
Orthopaedic Hospital.
• The Hospital provides most congenial atmosphere to the patients for their
speedy recovery with more than 50 beds currently.
• The departments which were visited are OPD, Reception, Emergency and
Plaster room, Radiology, OT, Physiotherapy, etc.
