1. A simple RAW whole meat diet for the carnivore in your life
2. Why Natural Food?
• It makes perfect sense……
– Most commercial pet foods are mixes of meat by-
products, fillers, artificial colors, flavorings, and
preservatives.
We know over-processed foods aren’t good for us –
why would we want to feed it to our pets?
– Dogs and cats are carnivores – their bodies are
designed to eat meat.
Its what they crave, it’s what they need.
3. What Changes Will I See?
• Look for these changes in your pet on whole pet food:
– Clearer eyes and ears
– Healthier teeth and gums (goodbye doggie breath!)
– Improved joint flexibility
– Shiny, softer coat
– Allergy symptoms minimized or relieved
– Stronger immune system
– More energy
– Calmer, less nervousness
Feeding real food will bring your pet health, vitality, balance,
longevity and happiness. And won’t that make you happy too?
4. What’s So Bad About
Commercial Pet Food?
• Holistic veterinarians believe that commercial pet food is a
major cause of the epidemic of health problems in pets: obesity,
allergies, arthritis, infections, digestive disease, immune
disorders, cancer…
• The Morris Animal Foundation estimates that nearly 50% of
pets will die of cancer.
• Changing your pets diet to whole foods can give your pet
longevity and save you in vet bills…
• A Canine Health Concern (CHC) survey showed vet visits
dropped 85% after dogs were transitioned to whole foods.
• Life expectancy is decreasing…
• Holistic veterinarians claim that in the pets of the 1940s-
60s was almost twice today’s average expectancies.
5. What’s the Difference?
Commercial Foods
• Meat by-products
meat deemed not suitable
for human consumption
• Corn or other grains
cheap fillers
• Meat Flavorings
make them think it’s meat!
• Artificial Colors
you wouldn’t feed it otherwise!
• Preservatives
chemicals, chemicals … and some
chemicals
It’s Only Natural
• Real meat –
100% “Human-grade”
• No additives
• No fillers
• No preservatives
Only frozen, freshly ground
muscle meat, organ meat, and
bone.
6. Meat By-Products, Fillers
Colors and Flavorings
• We all love our pets. We buy them food from well-
known brands, trusting that what we’re giving them is
made of the fine quality, healthy ingredients shown on
the front of the bag. But look at the back – the
ingredients label – it reads like a horror story.
• Read between the lines – learn the truth about what
really is in those “meaty bits”. It’s not good!
7. Beware of Preservatives
IF THE IDEA OF YOUR PET LIVING ON CEREAL AND JUNK
“MEAT” IS NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WANT TO
SWITCH TO NATURAL FOOD – CONSIDER THIS:
Ethoxyquin –A known health hazard linked to cancers, heart
disease, degenerative diseases, immune disorders, birth
defects and other disorders in epidemic proportions. And
it’s also used to preserve rubber tires!
NOTE: Even if Ethoxyquin is not listed on the label – it is
present in every commercial food containing animal by-
products. It needn’t be listed unless it was added by the pet
food manufacturer themselves: what the by-product meat
producer adds need not be listed. And they do use it!
8. What About RAW?
• Dogs and cats bodies are designed to eat and digest
raw food. It’s what they would eat in their natural
habitat.
• Their highly acidic and bactericidal juices create a
hostile environment for bacteria. Their digestive
tracts are also much shorter than ours – decreasing
opportunity for bacteria to multiply.
• Cooking foods actually:
– Alters necessary fats in the meat
– Destroys B-vitamins and antioxidants
– Naturally occurring digestive enzymes and good bacteria
are lost
9. Why Ground Organs and Bones?
• Both organs and bones provide the necessary body
building nutrients not sufficient in muscle meat alone:
– Organ meats offer vitamins, minerals and essential
fatty acids
– Bones give your pet a balanced ratio of calcium and
phosphorous .
10. How to Transition to a Whole
Food Diet
• Transitioning your pet to a whole foods diet should be
done gradually to prevent digestive upset. Allow 2-4
weeks or more for your pet’s system to adjust.
• During the transition period monitor your pet’s stool.
The stool of pets on a whole food diet will be smaller,
firmer and less odorous. Introduce the whole foods
more slowly if your pet’s stool becomes looser. This is
due to detoxification of the digestive system.
• Pets under 3 months of age can be transitioned
rapidly. Younger pets still have a fully functioning
digestive system.

12. How Much to Feed
• One measured cup-full is approximately equal to
one half pound of meat.
– For kittens and puppies, give about 10% of their
body weight
– For large breed puppies, give approximately 5% of
their current body weight
– For adults, feed 2 to 3% of your pets ideal adult
