Dear friends, first of all let me introduce myself - I’m Olga, a
teacher from Chelyabinsk. Have you ever heard of it? Sure
not, but we’re proud of being citizens of the capital of the
South Ural. Working with kids under 12 I feel everyday
energy and try to discover the world with my little energizers.
Two years ago God decided to present me a gift - it was a
great inspirer of my work-Lynn Rosen. An extraordinary
woman, incorrigible optimist, tireless person and just a
careful Mommy opened new horizons not just for me but for
all the kids and students of OLE-club!

The project we worked on together was “Heart to Heart”
project and it helped my kids and 14-15 year old students
know more about the Russian and American Senior Houses.
The main result of that collaboration was a parcel with the
Russian kids’ creations.

So the more we worked with Lynn the more I felt I needed
that person. More over I understood we had lots in common
and I was so pleased when Lynn was satisfied with my
results.
We’re still working together keeping on our Mommy-
Daughter collaboration. Lynn helped me with the first LKF
camp organization, with lesson plans etc. Now we’ve already
made 3 LKF Russia camps where living values have been
discussed and my OLE-club students have been written
essays and drawn posters for the main serious world
problems. One of the main problems discussed within the
summer camp collaboration was PEACE.

We’ve had a 4 weeks camp “Children’s Rights”:

1ST WEEK - PEACE

2ND WEEK - FAMILY

3RD WEEK - HUNGER

4TH WEEK - FRIENDSHIP

The first week’s question was “What does PEACE mean for
you?”

Our lessons at school and in OLE-club as well as city
meetings collected many people with the same ideas.
What does peace mean for me?
Every day I wake up in silence, but when it was the World
War II, people almost did not sleep. Now every day
I eat well, during a war there was almost no bread and other
food. I'm happy for not to be born during World War
II. There is no war; I have food, a house and all the other
things I need for a living.
All scientists are competing in the pursuit of new
discoveries, and it scares me a little bit. Nobody wants to
stay in the same place.
Sometimes I wonder what would happen if the World War
III starts? I even started to find out an information about our
strong opponents, but I hope that this is just my fantasy , my
bad nightmare. Peace for me is everything in the universe.

                                                    Dorofeev Mikhail
What does “peace” mean for me?
There are lots of differences in the world, something is
different in culture, but there are also some similarities! For
example, peace – some people think it’s just a family, others -
friends or something that connects them with the world, for
others - it is a learning process. World that surrounds us can
soothe and cheer! There is no one definition for the word
“peace”. People in love feel peace like their LOVE. It also
can be Love for the motherland, nature and all living things.
As for me, “peace” means my friends who are
always around me. They are people you can talk with, and
they will always help you! Peace for me is also my family,
my parents – the main support in my life, their frank, true
love will be with me forever! Peace is also my
Teachers, giving me an education, life experience, they are
responsible for my pack, and at school they worry for us as
our parents!
Peace - is something inside you, but I think for all people
it’s a blue sky, the bright sun in the sky, green grass… Peace
is a happiness that is given us by God!

Kondratova Alexandra
What does peace mean for me?
Of course, this question is difficult to answer. But I'll try. In
fact, peace for me - is primarily a family - my closest people. Who
else but the family will find the answer to any question? My
parents always help me in difficult situations, and I am very
grateful for that. Sometimes I am ashamed, because I do not do all
my best for them as they do for me. But my dear mom and dad, I
love you! Thank you for everything.
The second most important part of my life is my friends.
Fortunately, I have such a person, the best person on Earth-my
truly friend, who gives me a lot of positive emotions, I can tell her
everything, and I know for sure that she will always understand
me. Finally, the third important part of my life is my school. I
love it for many reasons. Classmates and teachers are pleased me
every day, so I go to school with a smile. Indeed, school - is the
second house. I also thank the school for the knowledge that it
gives me. It cares about my future; it opens me the way to a
successful life. I study at school # 23 and I'm proud of it!
But it is not the end. Peace - it is everything around us: the
bright sun, clear sky overhead, good people. The world is
beautiful, and it is very important to understand it in time!
                                                   Mariya Rodnina
What does peace mean for me?
Peace is a life where there is no war, when adults work and
children go to school without fear of terrorists. How wonderful it
is when all people live in peace. But what does peace mean for me
for a 14 year old Russian girl? First of all “peace” is peace in my
family, love and prosperity. Everyone has a family, friends, pets,
guys. I have, a favorite cat, it helps me to relax in difficult times,
I can always hug and kiss it every time I come home, I know that I
was waiting for him I love him very much, and it is a piece of my
world for me. Everyone has a beloved person who is always
ready to hide you in his/her strong or tender arms and ready to do
everything for you, but to my great regret, I had the same person
just for the moment. It is very sad when people you love leave the
world, but nothing lasts forever. Sometimes you are disappointed
in one person, but in this case you can find the best one who will
come into your world and will be there till the end. When you
quarrel with your parents, your world is falling apart, but don’t
forget they are your family and they take care of you and they are
ready to help you in difficult times.
So, as for me - peace means: family, favorite pets, and, of
course, be loved by people around. Each meaning of the word
“peace” is different, but all people have the same feelings of love,
some more some less, but still the same! Anastasiya Tkachyova
Peace - what is it?

Love, understanding, trust and peace in the world. Peace is
a life without wars and disasters. Peace is joy. Peace means -
children, flowers, happiness, joy! Although, not just these
ones. Perhaps peace is like a small flower which bears the
trust and kindness. After all, nowadays many people, working
in the hectic, start to forget what are kindness and trust. But
they are really necessary in our life. Maybe there are some
people who suppose that kindness is just a weakness. But no!

Kindness is a great feeling of understanding people. It is a
feeling of living in a world full of good people. And, yes,
yes! They exist! They just do not notice about it. I think
people must notice the beauty in ordinary things, honestly
and truly love! SO LET'S FORGET ABOUT our differences
and we’ll live in PEACE!!

                                              Polina Zibolova
What does peace mean for me?

For me peace means several things. First of all, of course,
it’s happiness. It is happiness to be near their relatives and
close friends, happiness to look into the eyes of his mother
and say how you love her. Unfortunately some people do not
understand this, and some just do not want to do it. Peace for
me is joy. It’s a little baby laugh or even a smile. It is a joy to
look at the world and see the beauty of nature untouched by
wars. To be honest, I just can’t understand people who cannot
appreciate peace on Earth. Are there any people who think
that war and violence are better than peace? In fact, we must
be able to appreciate what we have.

Every day when I wake up, I get out of bed and look
through the window. I wake up in the hope that all is well. I
look into my mother’s eyes and say, I’m lucky to have her,
and I love her. Peace for me is to see my friends and laugh
with them. Peace for me is just being a happy person, protect
people I love, my relatives and friends and never think about
troubles and problems! Kseniya Alyoshina
What does peace mean for me?

Peace - a state of mankind, when there is no war,
when nothing can block the communication between people.
Nowadays the peace process is valued; everyone is trying
to save the world around. Peace is everything for me. If there
was a war, mankind would live badly: million of people
would be killed - perhaps even the whole nation would be
disappeared.
The most important task of our generations is to preserve
peace in the world. Humanity is very important; it will
always be a balance between nature and humanity.

                                             Dariya Pyatkova
What does peace mean for me?
First of all “Peace” is very important for me because I can admire
nature, people and animals around me without fear. But it's not
just material things that we can see and admire, but it’s also
feelings such as love and friendship. Love helps us to understand
all the delights of this world, and friendship does not let us feel
lonely and find mutual support.
Peace is a combination of our past and our future when we can
dream. Overcoming mistakes of the past, we feel wiser in the
future. As for my own life, I think my family makes peace in my
soul - small, but warm and hospitable world. My family is also a
part of the world, kindness and understanding that I get from
parents is the most important thing in my family. I also believe
that every person is important in our life, for example- my friends;
they are also a part of a peaceful world. When people live in peace
children can go to school, because at school we learn a lot, we
meet new friends. I also find inspiration in painting and music. It
also makes peace around me. In conclusion, I want to say that
each person in the world is a part of it and should think over the
own steps to make peace in the world. Feeling peace around,
people can admire a world around and be happy!

                                              Valeriya Zakharova
Peace
Mankind has made a great progress in technological era. We
create tools that give people the opportunity to live better and
more comfortable. But, unfortunately, the person also creates lots
of weapons. People kill each other, and organize troops, occupy
the territory by force. Such a situation is slowly but surely leads
men to wars. We’re human beings and the future of the planet is in
our hands: peaceful or warlike.
The concept of «peace on earth» is explained in different
ways. Each person chooses its own peace. As for me peace is not a
war. This is a quiet life without bombs, without the firing of
firearms, without starving and without corpses lying
everywhere. War is an antonym of Peace.
Remember World War II, when the Nazis spared nobody:
neither children nor women. Remember Napoleon, who
conquered Europe and destroyed many towns and cities. Those
days people died not only from weapons but also from hunger. We
must appreciate and respect everything we have now. We must
remember heroes who gave us liberty, risking their lives.
Peace means a clear sky overhead. Peace is a paradise on Earth
and happiness in people’ lives. People must forget about wars,
about weapons and unnatural death. We create our world, our
future! Kseniya Kononova
Peace

It was a difficult question for me but I was thinking a lot
and finally found an answer. Peace is a life without war,
family life, people who love you and respect you. Peace is a
clear sky with birds. Peace is green grass, forests, fields,
Motherland, which is ready to protect you at any time. And of
course peace is your friends who are willing to help in any
situation. I am grateful to the soldiers who fought for peace;
they made a happy childhood for us. Thank them for
everything!

                                               Irina Kormina

As for me Peace means my friends around. They
always support me, make me feel happy, cheer me when I'm
sad. They almost replace my family because I meet them
more often than my parents. I feel bad when I quarrel with
someone of my friends; some of them are very close to me.

                                              Kristina Lavrik
What does peace mean to me?

I have put a lot into the concept of "Peace." As for me,
Peace means - friends, parents, fun and a dove in hearts of
people. In this case, the dove represents a slice of goodness
and mercy.
I have a big family, good friends and a favorite pet.
Many people thought I am the happiest girl, but it is not so!
I’m very rarely meet with my grandmother, because she lives
abroad, my parents are often at work so I have to travel to
camps, but it helps me to find new friends there. So it can
happen just in peace.
Peace is when all the children have parents, the sun
always shines, but of course we can’t live without rain, and if
it rains and the sun is shining, the rainbow appears, which
makes us kinder and happier. Hopefully in the near future,
my dreams become reality!
                                            Anastasiya Tolstih
Peace

What does peace mean for me? Peace is people who are
always next to you, it is freedom and independence. I do not
understand why people fight. Is it just because of territories?
But why? These are just extra troubles. Isn’t life in peace
better for everyone? I’m sure each government must take care
of people in the country. I hope one day everyone will
understand how important peace and in the world. People just
have to stop wars, conflicts and misunderstandings.

I think everyone will be happy if we live like one family,
without wars and conflicts.

In conclusion of his argument, I will say that the world is a
life when all people can live in peace and not to think about
any war.

                                               Kristina Orlova
What does peace mean for me?

Peace for me is a broad concept. It is happiness and
freedom. Peace in my life is my parents who live happily,
friends who do not betray, and some special people I can rely
on. The word peace means life without war, where you can
see smiles of your dearest and nearest. I was thinking about
the meaning of the word “peace” for a long time and now
realize the breadth of this concept, because each person
understand this word on his own way. Very often people do
not appreciate that they have and when they lose something
they’re very sorry about it. I’ve never thought about just a
possibility of any war in a modern society. Unfortunately in
our world, not everyone can protect our Motherland. It’s
really sad, but we are constantly destroying our world by
wars which made the world position worse.

If we were kinder, we would live happily in peace.

                                          Elizaveta Pristavka
What does peace mean for me?

Peace for me is very important. Our world is wonderful!
There are lots of plants and animals around. I think that the
world was created for life, which full of happiness and
pleasure, for beautiful people like mom and dad, who can
help you in difficult situation and who always support you. I
want to see these people around me for a long time. Living in
peace people have an opportunity of learning and developing
themselves. People create new things to make our life easier,
thus helping to us. Because of the existences of the world
people live, but they must keep it in peace. We won’t have
future without peace.

  • 17. What does peace mean for me? Peace - a state of mankind, when there is no war, when nothing can block the communication between people. Nowadays the peace process is valued; everyone is trying to save the world around. Peace is everything for me. If there was a war, mankind would live badly: million of people would be killed - perhaps even the whole nation would be disappeared. The most important task of our generations is to preserve peace in the world. Humanity is very important; it will always be a balance between nature and humanity. Dariya Pyatkova

  • 19. What does peace mean for me? First of all “Peace” is very important for me because I can admire nature, people and animals around me without fear. But it's not just material things that we can see and admire, but it’s also feelings such as love and friendship. Love helps us to understand all the delights of this world, and friendship does not let us feel lonely and find mutual support. Peace is a combination of our past and our future when we can dream. Overcoming mistakes of the past, we feel wiser in the future. As for my own life, I think my family makes peace in my soul - small, but warm and hospitable world. My family is also a part of the world, kindness and understanding that I get from parents is the most important thing in my family. I also believe that every person is important in our life, for example- my friends; they are also a part of a peaceful world. When people live in peace children can go to school, because at school we learn a lot, we meet new friends. I also find inspiration in painting and music. It also makes peace around me. In conclusion, I want to say that each person in the world is a part of it and should think over the own steps to make peace in the world. Feeling peace around, people can admire a world around and be happy! Valeriya Zakharova

  • 22. Mankind has made a great progress in technological era. We create tools that give people the opportunity to live better and more comfortable. But, unfortunately, the person also creates lots of weapons. People kill each other, and organize troops, occupy the territory by force. Such a situation is slowly but surely leads men to wars. We’re human beings and the future of the planet is in our hands: peaceful or warlike. The concept of «peace on earth» is explained in different ways. Each person chooses its own peace. As for me peace is not a war. This is a quiet life without bombs, without the firing of firearms, without starving and without corpses lying everywhere. War is an antonym of Peace. Remember World War II, when the Nazis spared nobody: neither children nor women. Remember Napoleon, who conquered Europe and destroyed many towns and cities. Those days people died not only from weapons but also from hunger. We must appreciate and respect everything we have now. We must remember heroes who gave us liberty, risking their lives. Peace means a clear sky overhead. Peace is a paradise on Earth and happiness in people’ lives. People must forget about wars, about weapons and unnatural death. We create our world, our future! • 24. Peace It was a difficult question for me but I was thinking a lot and finally found an answer. Peace is a life without war, family life, people who love you and respect you. Peace is a clear sky with birds. Peace is green grass, forests, fields, Motherland, which is ready to protect you at any time. And of course peace is your friends who are willing to help in any situation. I am grateful to the soldiers who fought for peace; they made a happy childhood for us. Thank them for everything! Irina Kormina As for me Peace means my friends around. They always support me, make me feel happy, cheer me when I'm sad. They almost replace my family because I meet them more often than my parents. I feel bad when I quarrel with someone of my friends; some of them are very close to me. Kristina Lavrik

  • 27. What does peace mean to me? I have put a lot into the concept of "Peace." As for me, Peace means - friends, parents, fun and a dove in hearts of people. In this case, the dove represents a slice of goodness and mercy. I have a big family, good friends and a favorite pet. Many people thought I am the happiest girl, but it is not so! I’m very rarely meet with my grandmother, because she lives abroad, my parents are often at work so I have to travel to camps, but it helps me to find new friends there. So it can happen just in peace. Peace is when all the children have parents, the sun always shines, but of course we can’t live without rain, and if it rains and the sun is shining, the rainbow appears, which makes us kinder and happier. Hopefully in the near future, my dreams become reality! Anastasiya Tolstih

  • 29. Peace What does peace mean for me? Peace is people who are always next to you, it is freedom and independence. I do not understand why people fight. Is it just because of territories? But why? These are just extra troubles. Isn’t life in peace better for everyone? I’m sure each government must take care of people in the country. I hope one day everyone will understand how important peace and in the world. People just have to stop wars, conflicts and misunderstandings. I think everyone will be happy if we live like one family, without wars and conflicts. In conclusion of his argument, I will say that the world is a life when all people can live in peace and not to think about any war. Kristina Orlova

  • 31. What does peace mean for me? Peace for me is a broad concept. It is happiness and freedom. Peace in my life is my parents who live happily, friends who do not betray, and some special people I can rely on. The word peace means life without war, where you can see smiles of your dearest and nearest. I was thinking about the meaning of the word “peace” for a long time and now realize the breadth of this concept, because each person understand this word on his own way. Very often people do not appreciate that they have and when they lose something they’re very sorry about it. I’ve never thought about just a possibility of any war in a modern society. Unfortunately in our world, not everyone can protect our Motherland. It’s really sad, but we are constantly destroying our world by wars which made the world position worse. If we were kinder, we would live happily in peace. Elizaveta Pristavka

  • 33. What does peace mean for me? Peace for me is very important. Our world is wonderful! There are lots of plants and animals around. I think that the world was created for life, which full of happiness and pleasure, for beautiful people like mom and dad, who can help you in difficult situation and who always support you. I want to see these people around me for a long time. Living in peace people have an opportunity of learning and developing themselves. People create new things to make our life easier, thus helping to us. Because of the existences of the world people live, but they must keep it in peace. We won’t have future without peace.
