Title: All you need to know about Brooke Taylor; the next big star.
I’m sure you lot are really excited about this interview, it is one of Brooke’s first ever
magazine interviews so it is definitely new and exclusive. There are photo’s while the
interview took place and you could find them on louder.com . Enjoy!
“First of all we must say you look gorgeous in that aqua dress and those coral heels – proper
glamorous, you have a great sense of fashion! So, Brooke most of the world got to know you
this month as your music is topping the charts in over 50 countries and everyone is loving
you, and you already have 1.5 million followers on twitter. You must be very happy, right?!”
“[Laughs] Aww thank you! Yeah the dress is Dolce &Gabanna and the heels are Louboutin’s
– my fave! And I must say that I can’t believe it all happened so quickly and I feel like the
luckiest person to have such an amazing opportunity to share my music with the world. And
the fact that I got all this at the age of 17 makes me even more ambitious and motivated for
the future years.”
“What is your life generally like? What does your everyday life look like?”
“Well first of all I still go to college 4 days a week, so I drive to college – I only got my driving
licence 4 months ago which is exciting so yeah then when I’m in college I go to my lessons
and hang out with my friends. I used to work last year but I had to quit my job so that I could
focus on my music career. I know some people might expect my life to be glamorous and all
that but it’s really not, at least not yet. Then after college I go home watch some of my
favourite shows on TV. Then on my 3 days off I rest, exercise, go out and most importantly –
create new music. I also try and respond to as many of my fans as I can on Twitter, Facebook
and Instagram if I have spare time.
“What was your most embarrassing moment in life?”
“Embarrasing moments… oh god… I’d rather not mention them on here as it would be pretty
embarrassing [laughs]. But ok I’ll tell you one… no actually I won’t.”
“When and how did you first become interested in music?”
“I first became interested in music… well I can’t remember, probably ever since I was born.
Everyone remembers me, even as a baby always loving listening to music. I also started
playing musical instruments like the piano, guitar, keyboard and recorder all at the age of 7/8,
I guess I just got the hang of playing instruments really easily.”
“What are your musical influences?”
“My musical influences are definitely people like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Black
Eyed Peas and Young Money. I was interested in these artists ever since they became famous
2. and their music really influenced my perspective on the world of music. I would compare
myself to probably Rihanna as she has always been my idol and my music is very similar to
hers.”
“What else do you do besides play music”
“Well in my spare time I like to go out with my friends to clubs and parties, the usual. And I
go college studyingA levels– I really enjoy it. I occasionally participate in sports such as
swimming, tennis, horse riding and ice skating. I really enjoy dancing and other activities
such as jogging in the morning and doing zumba / aerobics – it really helps me stay fit and
healthy which is really important.”
“Why did you decide to write that song and what is it about?”
“I wrote this song because of some amazing people in my life who influence how I create my
music and what my music is about, but it can also be about anything in the world perhaps
feelings and things like that and it is good because everyone can relate to my music no matter
what age they are or what their life situation is.The song is about love / having a broken
heart… kind of like a love song but better with several metaphorical meanings.”
“What makes your music, R&B music?”
“It is distinct from most other songs because its much faster and has more beats, however in
many situations people could describe it as pop music and in other circumstanceseven as rap
or rock – but overall it is R&B.”
“Why did you choose to play this kind of music?”
“Because it reflects my personality and feelings and many people can reflect to it – I have a
very broad audience. Most of the teenage / young adult population is listening to this genre
of music and I just want to reach out to as many people as possible.”
“What live performance experience do you have?”
“I started off with performing at local clubs and bars when I was 16, but I will be going on my
world tour next year (after I’ve finished college) which is going to take place in 15 countries
which is very exciting! I can’t wait!”
“How did you sell your product?”
“My songs are being sold on-line on iTunes mostly but also in shops such as HMV. These are
the most effective forms of getting through to consumers / the audience of my music.”
“Who produced your music and what type of production process did they use?”
“My amazing record label helped me to produce my music and they used several production
processes, I would not be able to do this without them and I am really grateful that they
signed me.”
3. “How would you describe your music to someone who’s never heard it?”
“I would describe it as music which is very modern and up to date with the latest trends and
fashions, it is also music which is kind of addictive, you want to listen to it over and over
again – its very unique and creates a positive vibe.”
“What are your immediate music goals and life goals?”
“To complete my world tour and perform with major artists – Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Drake,
Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry ect. I also want to donate money to third world charities of course.
And in a few years time I’m definitely moving to Beverly Hills in Los Angeles for good, it was
one of my biggest dreams ever since I was little – I am obsessed with that place! It just has a
really good vibe to it like the palm trees, hot weather all year round, beaches, sunshine, blue
ocean, deserts, mountains, amazing houses, cars, hot guys ect and the list goes on.”
“What image do you as a celebrity convey?”
“I probably convey a positive image of a 17 year old female teenager which many people can
aspire and relate to, just because I am now famous doesn’t mean that I am a different person
who looks down on their fans – no… I feel like I am on the same level as them and we have a
lot in common, I love all my fans – without them I wouldn’t be here.”
“What advice would you give to young talented musicians like yourself who aren’t famous?”
“First of all you should believe in yourself and be confident. You have to be motivated and
always work to your full potential – never give up! You also have to have a positive attitude –
thinking negatively such as “I am never gonna be famous, my music isn’t good enough” is not
an option."
“Ok, thank you so much for doing this interview, and we hope to see you on TV again soon
and good luck on your 3rd new single.”
“Its ok, I was my pleasure, I hope all my fans got to know me a bit better through this. Love
you all [Blows kiss].”
