By joiningin - or stepping up for the cause of movement - as an organiser of a
No Elevators Day event, you will be involved in a global volunteering
celebration that encourages people to climb awayfromsedentary behaviour
andto step into a healthylifeby being activeat anymomentduringthe day.
Because doing some physical activity is better than doing none.
It is important to highlight the fact that the sizeand dimension of your No
Elevators Day event totally dependson yourneeds andambitions, andcan
range from simply taking the stairs and sharing your photo on social media to
organising a flagship event in an iconic building in your city, with press and
local celebrities in attendance.
OVERVIEW
Promote and speak about #NoElevatorsDay online and offline: #BeActive on social
media, create and share your event, give reasons for people to climb the stairs,
invite your friends and colleagues, etc.
Be a Role Model and demonstrate that being physically active is as easy as taking
the stairs and encourage peopleto join!
This communications guide will give you inspiration for promoting your event and
the associated campaign in a creative way. Get new partners on board, reach
more people and connect your efforts to a bigger movement that is fighting the
physical inactivity crisis. Generate positive PR and visibility for your organisation or
your needs, and involve opinion leaders in what you do.
