The proposed guidelines in brief • Builds on national legal framework and EC policy for H2020 • Open access to research data is the norm. – Exceptions to protect personal integrity, intellectual prooperty rigths etc • Data + metadata freely available for re-use. – Research funded by the Government (tax payers). – Data underpinning scientific publications should be made available at the time of publication. • Implemented in ten year period, start with pilots. – Archiving and preservation at universities. – Need for both technical and knowledge infrastructures for dissemination of data.
  12. Next steps for the open access-project 2014 • September: in-house anchoring of 1st draft version of national guidelines. • October: invitation to stakeholders to submit comments. • December: SRC board approval of national guidelines before delivering them to the Government. 2015 •Project ends, direction of SRC’s OA work depends on (expected) new task from the Government.
