2. What is SMAC?
SMAC is the concept that four technologies are currently the
driving innovation of the future. None of the four technologies
can be an afterthought because it's the synergy created by social,
mobile, analytics and cloud working together that creates
a competitive advantage.
Social media has provided businesses with new ways to reach and
interact with customers, while mobile technologies have changed
the way people communicate, shop and work. Analytics allow
businesses to understand how, when and where people consume
certain goods and services and cloud computing provides a new
way to access technology and the data a business needs to quickly
respond to changing markets and solve business problems.
3. What is SMAC?
While each of the four technologies can impact a business
individually, their convergence is proving to be a disruptive force
that is creating entirely new business models for service
providers.
In today’s applications most of the user information is obtained by
the user logging in using a social networking account. Making the
application available on the various devices releasing in today’s
market, the application enables the user to work on the go using
his data when and where he wants. Cloud computing enables the
user to keep the data synched across these devices. With the help
of the Analytics the application is able to provide the users with
information and products which would satisfy them.
4. Trends
With the rise of social networking giants like Facebook and Twitter
more than 1.2 billion users are socially active online. With such a
large target audience the opportunities are limitless. With around
2 billion smartphone users around the world and its exponential
rise in demand pools into the target audience. With more than
100 billion yearly app downloads, the scope of mobile applications
have rapidly increased.
Cloud storage technology has enabled users to remotely access
files and sync their data across various devices. It has made users
less dependent on local storage as cloud storage ensures ease of
access and data storage security. With great research into the field
of analytics, it has enabled applications to provide desirable
products to various users.
5. Trends
Internet has become a part of our life and it has become
impossible to live without it. Applications developed supporting
various devices, connecting people socially and implementing the
cloud technology has the greatest scope in the coming future.
At the same time another field that is growing is that of
augmented and virtual reality. The combination, AR + SMAC could
become one of the greatest trend in the future. With more and
more technology MNCs getting into these fields the scope is
unlimited.
6. My interest lies in developing application software to enable
users to access and analyze data on their phones/tablets
wherever and whenever they want. I also have a keen interest in
the field of big data analytics.
I would like learn more on the methods of big data analysis and
build applications to enable users to analyze data on the go,
keeping their work synched across their devices allowing them to
switch between devices as and when they want.
If given the opportunity I would like work in the field on analytics
and cloud as SMAC would become the driving force in the future
of information technology.
