1. A mother’s love for a child is like nothing else in the world. Even though
the child technically murdered her own mother in order to have her heart,
the mother still cares for her child in times when her child is at pain or
danger. No matter what happens, she still there, giving encouragement
and showing care for her child. The poem relates how forgiving and how
great the love of a mother is for her son although he has hurt her very
much.
I have also read another interpretation of the poem. The “youth” in the
poem represents us “human”. The “maiden” represents “human’s desire
and wants”. The “mother” represents the “country”. And the “mother’s
heart” symbolizes the “country’s natural resources or possessions”.
It attempt to explain that the maiden symbolizes wicked things a mother
doesn’t want her child to do; such as vices, misbehavior, illegal things,
and the like. Those would surely hurt a mother’s heart.
I am so much elated with the title of the poem. It gives us very little
specific information about the poem’s subject. I am also delighted with
the author’s artistic use of words. How the author played the poem with
2. words. The author exploited the rhyming scheme of abab or baba which
made the poem appear to be enjoyable to read.
