I worked in an administrative office where I scheduled rooms for the Ohio State medical
center, where I answered phone calls and emails regarding the scheduling of rooms. I
worked in a very result oriented, customer service environment, working closely with
doctors and doctor’s assistants. This job required a large amount of troubleshooting,
ensuring everyone is scheduled in proper rooms at proper times.

I started as a server waiting on tables and fulfilling customer service duties. After one year I
was promoted to student manager, overseeing 15-30 employees per shift. I was responsible
for training new employees, organizing service charts, reservations, and ensuring customer
satisfaction. I performed several different duties while being a manager including, opening
and closing the restaurant, making reservations over the phone, expediting food to make
sure it went to the proper place, as well as managing employees. I also earned food safety
and handling certifications.

This was my first restaurant position in where I learned the basic skills of the trade as well
as gaining my first experiences in conflict resolution. I Served tables and closed the

room leader, which entailed assigning service charts, assigning cleaning duties, training new
employees and encouraging employees to increase sales.
