Avanta UK trading as Garage Ikon has
successfully completed a comprehensive
workshop storage equipment fit out
project for a UK Boating Team.
The client researched the market and selected
6 suitable companies to tender for the project
based on their initial concept / layout.
Garage Ikon presented initial design ideas on
how to optimise the storage space for large
bulky items, small parts and provide suitable
work areas.
The contract was awarded to Garage Ikon for
various reasons including: -
• Quality of units – durability, finish,
double skin sides, gauge of steel,
adjustable levelling feet etc.
• The installation service offered
• The design
• Expertise and Knowledge of
the systems
• Price – The price range difference was
not great across the top 3 companies
tendering. Therefore it was not the
key differentiator.
Boat maintenance workshop fit out
There is circa 40 individual storage units
within this installation with a 10.6m
seamless biscuit jointed industrial lino
worktop on the main run. There are
multiple storage cabinets for bulk storage,
bins for consumables and drawers
for tooling.
Garage Ikon quote – “We were delighted
to be awarded this contract and to see the
workshop from the initial design to the
finished article is pleasing.”
The units were manufactured and the
installation took place over 2 days.
The left hand wall is a run of sliding door
units so that when the doors are open they
do not encroach over the fire exit.
Bespoke depth units were utilised and a
mobile drawer unit was included in the
package so that tools could be taken to the
job if required.
