Communication Center
 Priority No. 1 program in Health established under DHS in
1993 and under MOH in 2002
 Established for Raising Awareness on Health, Promoting
Health and Changing Desired Behavior in an Integrated
Manner
 Health Education Section in Regional Office
 Health Education Unit in District Public Health Office
 IEC corner at District hospital and PHCC.

4. Function of NHEICC
 Organize advocacy meeting at all level of health system
 Develop and present health promotion and education
policy, legislation, plan, strategies and activities
 Develop and disseminate health promotion messages
through multi-media/channel
 Establish health education/promotion resource center at
all level
 Conduct school health programs
 Conduct health promotion campaign at community level
 Conduct coordination meeting with partner organization
 Conduct HE training/workshop for health personnel

5. Health Promotion and Education
Activities as Specific
 Production, development and distribution of health
related IEC materials at all levels.
 Formulate/Review/revise/produce health promotion and
education policy, strategy, programs and activities for
different level of health Care.
 Production and broadcasting HP/E Radio Programs through
National and FM Radios.
 Production and dissemination of messages through
Television, cinema halls & video show at different level.
 Development & Publication of health messages in
newspapers and magazines (daily, weekly, monthly &
annually).
 Conducting Campaign by using mass media and
community mobilization for the prevention and control of
epidemic and communicable diseases.

equipments and IEC materials.
 Conducting impact studies on HP/E activities at district &

private sectors.
 Dissemination of HP/E messages through folk media
 Procurement of electronic equipment to support and
strengthen health promotion activities at national,
regional, district and below Level
