2. Who are they? Hadouken! Are an English ‘Dance / Punk’ band from Leeds in West Yorkshire. They first released they’re work from they’re own record label, ‘Surface Noise Records’ (which they put together whilst at university) they are now signed with, Atlantic Records(a label that are known for signing rock and roll / jazz and rhythm and blues bands) and Kitsuné Music (a French electronic music label).
3. Why are they Post Modern? I have given Hadouken the label of being postmodern because of the way they have created a new sound of music by merging two genres, Punk and Electronic/Dance. The way this makes them postmodern is because they merge the two genre’s together so your unsure of where the two genres start and end.
5. With Hadouken’s sound, it is fairly hard to distinguish what genres they are aiming for as they change all the time, for instance in ‘that boy that girl’ we get the impression of a ‘rap/techno’ band, and in ‘Declaration Of War’ we think they are less rap and more of a smooth techno band (whereby they are less upbeat and harsh in terms of the lyrics).
8. Postmodern Video’s The video’s are also post modern because of the way they change the style of the video. in one they use stop motion and then they also use proper video.
