PersonalProfile
I am a hardworking person who can work using my own initiative as well as within a
team. I enjoy a challenge, having targets to complete and very much prefer to be busy. I
would say I am a people person and have always been very much capable of being
someone’s first point of contact, i.e. Customer facing or over the telephone. I have a
very good telephone manner and cope well with any queries, enquiries and complaints.

Murdoch House Care Home – 2012 to 2013 – Main role - Home Administrator
Additional role - Senior Carer
Administration was my full responsibility within the Care home. Using in house
data bases, excel, word and power point.
I was first point of contact within my role as Administrator. I would meet and
2. greet families, potential clients, managers and deliveries. Any phone calls
would come directly to me to deal with any problems and enquiries.
Within my role I would look after patient’s accounts. Receiving cash and
cheques for the fees and also setting up direct debits. Patients would also have
an account with us for personal funds which I would maintain with any
expenses i.e. when they had their hair done or any newspapers they would have
delivered, etc. so keeping their accounts up to date was very important. When
their personal funds were running low I would contact their next of kin to keep
them up to date as to when they would need to replenish funds. Patient’s
valuables would also be recorded on the system and kept safe for them.
As part of my role I would be raising and sending invoices to our clients for fees
and chasing payments. I was in charge of payroll, which was a weekly duty.
Checking and updating records within excel for any incoming invoices, making
sure they are correct before payments were made.
Monthly I would have to do a bit of market research and price comparison with
other homes in and around the area.
Additional to my main role as Administrator I would do senior care to cover
shifts. This would include creating rotas for staff on shift, medication rounds,
updating patient records, caring for 25 patients and overseeing work of 2 carers.
At the end of shift I would hand over to the next senior carer and give a brief
description of anything that was relevant.
Berkshire Health Care Foundation Trust - 2008 to 2010 - Nursing Assistant.
Working on the ward was always very challenging as I worked with mental
health patients.
1:1 sessions were very important to have weekly with your allocated patients.
But you had to always be available if they wanted to talk about anything at any
time.
Maintaining a ward routine was important and keeping patients within a
routine.
My duties would include serving meals, helping RGN’s with medication, bed
making, patient’s personal hygiene, updating patient’s notes at the end of shifts,
helping with admission and discharge and also helping out with occupational
therapy.
Office Angels - 2008 - 2008 - Temp.
I would be placed into a role for anything froma day to a few months depending
on how long the client of Office Angels needed someone. Occasionally a
company would regularly need a temp and I would be called back if I wasn’t
already on a job placement.
A lot of the placements were reception roles so my duties would include
meeting and greeting anyone who came in, receiving calls and making outgoing
calls, keeping up to date with e-mails and basic admin.
One role I was placed at I was in charge of booking transport and flights for
people within the company.
Alliance Pharmacy - 2006 - 2008 - Sales Assistant.
Customer service was a very big part of this role as you were the first point of
3. contact for customers entering the shop. Serving customers with any purchases
or taking prescriptions to then be dispensed.
Other duties would include till operation, cash handling, cashing up, helping
with dispensing, stock replenishment, opening and closing the shop, cleaning
and tidying.
Other Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, taking my daughter out even if it’s
just to the park. I enjoy swimming and gymnastics which as a child I achieved many
medals.
I also fundraise and plan events for a charity close to my heart, which has been
successful for almost 10 years now.
