Introduction Augmented reality and virtual reality have many obvious benefits for learning, work and social engagement. It is critical for librarians to understand these technologies, so that they can determine how they can best be used in the library and how library users may want and need to interact with them. In this session, the presenter will discuss the history of augmented and virtual reality and examine how they are being used in a variety of settings. She will then lead a discussion of current-use cases, and of the technologies’ potential for future growth in libraries.
