To whom it may concern

What follows is a brief recommendation for our Grade 1 teacher, Nadee Wickramarachchi.

Nadee, currently teaching at ISS as part of our Grade 1 team, is an outstanding educator.
Having previously taught in Grade 2 she asked to be a teacher in Grade 1 this year when a
place became available due to a leave of absence.

In grade 1 she is in her ‘element.’

The children are calm, engaged and learning in an environment that combines the best of early
years practice with the more formal introduction to school that characterizes this grade level.

Going into her classroom, you would see a series of differentiated groupings, children engaged
in activities by ability, task and assessment outcomes. In addition, there are learning activities
suited to the needs of the children that are paced differently to allow for creativity and fine
motor skill development.

Her classroom space is also a teaching environment; tasteful displays of process and product,
well-organized resources and evidence of the variety of cultures and languages that her
children bring into school are clearly visible.

She is, in addition, a wonderful ambassador within the parental community and has done much
to promote the recent Human Library project with parents, the Mother Tongue program within
the regular school day and the day-to-day communication with our multi cultured community
here at the International School of Stuttgart.

Her commitment to professional growth, her ability to work as part of a team and her
international perspective would best suit a school such as the Vienna International School.

I strongly recommend her for your consideration.
