2. What is Technology?
It could be defined as the application of well-
defined knowledge to real tasks by organized
system of machines and people.
• Technology is mainly the need of the
hour.
• With the advancement of technology in
today’s world, it is very important to
walk along with it.
3. • Technology played a massive role in our
everyday lives.
• Increasing role in modern day
education
• It helps in diagnosing dangerous
diseases in health care sector,
• It also helps cut losses and meet the
security demands of businesses.
Despite the role it played in our life there are
some negative effects also.
4. For my presentation I am going to talk about
three trends in Information Technology and
how they affect our lives both positively and
negatively.
• Cloud computing
• Social media and
• Virtual learning
5. What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing is the process were users and
enterprises store their data in a third-party data
center. Cloud resources are usually not only
shared by multiple users but are also vigorously
allotted per demand.
6. • Cloud computing helps businesses reduced
cost on data storage and other operation
costs.
• It also has built-in expandability and
adaptability features which can
conveniently guide the growth of
businesses.
• End-users doubt the security of cloud
computing because they have no
knowledge of the physical location and the
configuration of the system that provides
the services.
7. • Social media is an internet based
application used to share and
communicate between people all over the
world.
• It helps businesses to communicate with
their customers. The focus of enterprise
marketing has now shifted to the use of
social media for promotion of products
and services.
8. • Although the idea of social media is to make
it easier for individuals to communicate and
engage in conversations, it has led to a
reduction in human interaction.
• One of the biggest issues of social media is
privacy and protection of user information,
social networking sites such as Facebook
and Twitter do not take the proper steps to
protect the information users share with
each other because of the ownership of the
content.
9. Virtual learning is a Web-based platform for
the digital aspects of courses of study within
educational institutions . Institutions of
higher education are using web-based
courses instead of traditional classrooms.
Virtual learning has helped several people
learn concurrently from different locations.
Learners are not required to gather at a
specific time or place in order to learn and
receive instructions and information.
10. • Virtual learning had limited success in
some situations.
• In an online environment, students feel
deserted, and parents have concerns
about their children’s social development.
Students with language difficulties may
experience a disadvantage in a text-heavy
online environment.
• Subjects like music, physical education,
foreign language or higher technical
subjects may not be practical in a
technology-mediated setting.
11. • Being aware of the importance of
technology is vital because technology
helps us in all walks of life. We cannot
imagine our lives without the advances
of technology with our phones,
computers, cars, machines, businesses,
education and healthcare.
• To conclude, it is our responsibility to
continue the development in
technology for the benefit of society
across the world.
