Novell and Red Hat are compared based on monthly snapshots of the number of applications in their catalogs from independent software vendors (ISVs) that support their respective Linux platforms, SUSE Linux Enterprise and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The document shows that while Red Hat previously had twice as many ISV applications in its catalog than Novell 25 months ago, Novell has now reversed this and built a 2:1 lead over Red Hat in terms of catalog size. The lead for Novell continues to grow based on the data shown.
