INTRODUCTION
This is a summary report of the Space 134 Business Mixer that was held on June 24th, 2015.
The event took place at the landmark Alex Theatre in the City of Glendale. The purpose of the
event was to bring together local members of the business community to inform them about
the Space 134 Freeway Cap project and hear feedback. Admittance and food were free and
the event was open to the public. In total, approximately 140 people attended.
During the event, participants were led through a series of boards that presented
the project’s concept, site, precedents, benefits, and implementation possibilities.
Members of the project team helped participants answer questions. Also included were
results from the Space 134 community workshop held during Glendale’s Earth Day Festival
on May 2nd, 2015. Attendees provided their feedback on the project by filling out a survey,
which was designed to gauge support and ideas. The results of the survey are included on
the following pages. The feedback from this event will ultimately be used for the next
phase of the Space 134 Freeway Cap project.
